  1. Don't care if Rizzo comes back... 1B is so easy to find someone to play and he's probably going to have more back issues as he ages. Would love to re-sign KB or Javy, with Javy the more likely (and less valuable) of the 2. Gotta get some starting pitching - will be interesting to see how Steele and Thompson respond to being stretched out and see how Alzolay finishes the year. If we can count on 2 of them next year to be in the rotation and Hendricks can stop giving up so many dongs, I like our starting point. Want to see Manny Rodriguez, Ben Leeper, etc. get lots of chances in the pen. Fire as many of Brothers, Ryan, Maples, Winkler, etc. into the sun as necessary and bring up any young arms you think are big league caliber. Convince Ross that Heyward doesn't have to play just because we're paying him too much money.
  2. He's great in transition. Solid defensively. His best role is probably as a scorer off the bench, though his 3 point shooting may or may not hold up (though he improved every year in college). He's a great competitor and he will work his butt off to improve his game however possible. Probably never an all-star, but should be a reliable rotation guy right away.
  3. Javy is absolutely getting thrown at tomorrow, isn't he?
  4. Drop: Josh Donaldson ($150) Add: Rafael Devers ($100) Drop: Paul Goldschmidt ($100) Add: Matt Olson ($150)
  5. Fire everyone. Make them sell the team. This is just disgusting.
  6. happier times...
  7. While Dame is definitely better, I don't know that that gets you where you want to go. The dream is to find a way to get them together, but there's basically no way to do that unless Portland thinks Pat Williams is going to be a star
  8. Clearly, the Cubs are a frustrating team to follow. But it could be worse... 6-42 in their last 48 games. Wow
  9. Jason Heyward is being paid $21,000,000 this year. The MLB minimum salary is $570,500. Now, if you want to talk about minor league players going through all this and playing for peanuts and getting treated terribly, I'm with you. But no major league ballplayer has any room to whine about being tested and having their movement restricted. They can literally just go get their vaccine and get those restrictions removed. Even the guys making the bare minimum have a level of wealth that the average American can only dream of. Science has shown the vaccines work. Get a shot you millionaire meatheads
  10. Wes McKennie is a monster in the air
  11. McKenzie looks like hot garbage
  12. Wow, what a crazy couple minutes
  13. hilariously bad giveaway
  14. Vosler used to be in the Cubs system, was traded to the Padres for Wick
  15. Jake is toast, Davies sucks, Williams has never been any good, Kyle keeps giving up HRs, and Alzolay is going to hit his career high in IP by like the All-star break. The bullpen hs been great, but how long before all the high leverage innings catch up with them?
  16. Bench Move Drop: Kyle Lewis Add: Jared Walsh
  17. anyone else hate the checking of notecards or whatever like Reyes just did looking inside his hat?
  18. Joc looked awful all night, Rizzoli had a terrible AB in a huge spot, and like someone said, we never adjusted to the offspeed stuff. And Alzolay should have been done after 6. Missed a lot of spots the last couple of innings, starting with the slider to Thomas that drove in the first run.
  19. Kinda cool seeing Javy back off that ball because he knew Nico had it
