  1. One of the rare nights I'm rooting for Illinois. God I hope they don't rush the floor, haha.
  2. Indiana will crack the top 10 today. That is insane. Likely looking at a 1-1 week. Thursday at home against Minnesota and then on the road Sunday at Ohio State.
  3. Sloppy second half for IU but they did just enough. On to Penn St. On Sunday.
  4. Can't get too worked up either way on this one. Zambrano has run out of chances, and the Cubs were going to have to pay him regardless if he pitched for them in 2012 or not. There was no chance in hell he was going to resign, and the team won't be all that good either. They decided to trade him and get back end guy in return who they hope might turn a corner.
  5. http://blogs.courier-journal.com/jodydemling/2012/01/01/luke-fischer-commits-to-indiana/ Luke Fischer decided after the game to commit. Not a star, but IU has been on him for a while. Cream has had good success with under the radar type guys in Oladipo and Sheehey.
  6. IU with another test coming up on Thursday night against Michigan. Hoping that Sheehey can come back and get some minutes. I had said earlier that I'd be happy with a1-2 start, but I changed my mind after they beat OSU. I think IU will be very tough to beat at home, the test will be how they do on the road.
  7. Yep, you are right. Part of me can't believe it still. IU is not only going to make the tournament but they should have a good seed as well.
  8. Yeah, those two wins will also be huge at tournament time.
  9. That was awesome. I love watching this team.
  10. Didn't see a minute of the game due to a meeting I had to attend. I guess it's good to see IU fight back from being down big early. Was the defense just terrible? IU just has to survive this early brutal stretch to the Big 10 season.
  11. Agreed. IU is way ahead of where I thought they would be. I'm just going to sit back and enjoy watching a competent team again. I could see them going any where from 9-9 to 11-7 in the Big 10.
  12. IU has a rough stretch, even more so now with Jones and Sheehey being out. Both are definitely out for tomorrow night's game at MSU. Sounds like Sheehey might be out for a while. I'd be content with a 1-2 start with @MSU, Ohio St, and Michigan.
  13. Transfers happen all the time. Except of course nobody ever leaves IU willingly, in that case they are "Creaned". Too bad it didn't work out, I know some of you were very high on him when he committed.
  14. Heh.. IU is far from being a collection of world beaters. But it is "fun" (to use your words) that IU has come back from the abyss to have a comparable team to Illinois a lot sooner than anyone thought.
  15. I just don't see how Cashner is a starter this year. The workload would be a huge jump for him. I think the more likely scenario is putting him in the bullpen and hopefully having a healthy season. He missed the whole season. He is not a guy with a track record of 175+ inning workloads. Build the arm back up and look for him starting in 2013.
  16. Brett's source reported it was a substantial bid that could win. Cubs bid amount was never really reported/speculated on by the media like the others. Fits the profile of a guy Theo would want (and I think Theo has been interested in him for years now - not that that's saying much). Say the Cubs get Darvish, does that increase the probability of a Garza trade or decrease it?
  17. I have admittedly kind of haphazardly followed the Darvish saga, but is there really anything to go on that suggests the Cubs really have a shot at this? I know they have bid, but I guess we will know soon.
  18. Gotta like shooting 9-14 from 3 and 7-11 from the FT line, in a half. 24 for 32 inside the 3-pt line for the game. Remy Abell is an interesting cat. Seems to play pretty well when he's in there. Would be interested to see how he develops, but I don't know that he'll be around for the long haul with Yogi coming in next year. I like how balanced their scoring attack can be. Through 11 games they still have 5 guys averaging more than 10 per game, with Jones at 8.9. Still not sure how the Big10 is going to go, but certainly exceeded expectations so far.
  19. The worst thing that could happen to the Big10 is if Illinois actually did fire Weber. I want him to stay as long as he wants.
  20. What is going on in Champaign? Is there a real anti-Weber movement developing? Are you in the minority in the fan-base?
  21. IU up 52-15 at the half against Howard. Nice to see a team that can score/shoot after the past few years. 9/14 from behind the arc so far.
  22. Yeah, that was a good team to have a hangover against. Whether it was the inability to replicate the UK high or the week off, it just wasnt there today. Good thing ND couldn't score the basketball whatsoever. Exactly. I was there and it was just a boring game to watch, no flow to it at all.
  23. Ugly win by IU, but I'll take it.
