    Everyone overrates their own team's prospects to an extent. I am usually of the opinion that if you can acquire young, proven talent with prospects, then you do it. Is Garza that guy? Nobody really knows, and won't for a while. Gives us something to talk about.

    I think it is a positive addition as well. I don't really care what the relief pitcher's ERA was, but it's good to have a guy who has been in that staff for 10 years working in the Cubs minor league system.

    I was under the impression that it is a longshot for Guzman to even pitch again. Wasn't the surgery he had somewhat experimental?

    Crean is on quite a recruiting roll. Ferrell makes 9 commitments in the past 3 months.

    I'm not ready to say he is coming to IU or anything along those lines. But you are kidding yourself if you think IU has zero chance in this thing. His comments yesterday were quite telling. Time will tell I guess.

    It seems like IU is doing what Purdue did when they brought in the Hummel, Moore, and Johnson class while they were at the bottom of the Big10. Only difference is IU is spreading it out over multiple classes.

    IU with 2 new 2013 commits today. Devin Davis and Collin Hartman. Apparently Yogi Ferrell is announcing Wednesday. Most seem to think it will be IU. Harris with with Hartman today in IU gear, but thankfully I don't have to worry about him going to IU, :) IU still has a way to go, but it keeps looking better.

    I'm willing to give Jones a break tonight. He hasn't had much practice due to the ankle injury and this was IU's third game in five days. I don't know how many games they will win, but you can at least see some promise with this team as it matures.

    I know I"m just a stupid IU fan, but have I missed something that indicated Harris has no shot of going to IU? I don't follow it closely enough to know for sure, but I don't recall seeing anything of that nature out there. I know his mom and dad are Purdue grads, so that could play a role perhaps. I have no idea if IU has a shot or not, I guess I am just saying I haven't seen anything that indicates they don't.

    I'm curious to see how IU plays against a pretty good Wright St. team. I think they finished 2nd in the Horizon to Butler last year.

    Who has said he is a lock for IU? I'm as pleased as anyone that Crean is bringing in talent, but I can also recognize he won't get everyone and that IU is a long way still from being good. I think IU has a great shot at Ferrell, but it's not a done deal. Let's just see how that plays out and then we will see.

    Keith Law crapped on this deal on ESPN Insider. In short, DeWitt can't run or hit. Wallach's velocity hasn't improved and he can't be taken seriously until it does. Also thinks he is too old for his level. Thinks Smit could be a capable middle reliever fairly soon.

    I was there that evening. What a wild game. Cubs gave up quite a few runs in the 9th to the Rockies and then the Cubs came back to win it on a Soriano blooper in the 9th.
