  1. Jurkin and Perea are out for first 9 games. From what I've read, has to do with international issues regarding eligibility. Could definitely cause some depth issues for IU early in the year. Perea was going to be out for a bit anyway due to a foot injury. First game back would be against Butler on Dec 15.
  2. [quoteJeff Rabjohns ‏@JeffRabjohns Source tells http://Peegs.com Indiana is no longer recruiting BeeJay Anya] So what does this mean? Anya is going to NC State for one thing. Secondly, seems like IU is going to go all out for Vonleh. Been some rumors about Perea and Jurkin with not having their eligibility officially approved yet, maybe IU has some news that this won't be an issue and can prioritize Vonleh over Anya. Or...maybe Anya just like NCState better. Anya certainly had some connections to IU with Oladipo and the other DC area recruits coming in.
  3. I like it when they show up on campus and there is no scholarship on day one. Example?
  4. Wow. Nice. Got a nice little pipeline starting from the VA/MD/NC area. Creek, Oladipo, Jurkin, now Williams. And Robinson.
  5. Troy Williams to IU. Hell ya.
  6. Wow. He's saying it to find a job. He obviously needs the help since he received 2 degrees in his 4 years. I'm done.
  7. Spin control from the guy who was supposedly screwed? What is the motivation for him to do so? Especially if he was wronged as you indicate? Its a non-story. I'd link the whole article but it is form a subscription service. Its pretty clear he doesn't think IU/Crean have done anything wrong.
  8. Don't let me interrupt the IU/Crean bashing, but this from Roth tonight: Carry on anyway....
  9. Went through the same thing, diagnosed in 2008. Coming up on my 4 year anniversary of diagnosis. Everything has worked out great for me so far. 2 surgeries and 3 rounds of chemo weren't fun, but worth it. If need any advice, or have questions, let me know. My doctor was Armstrong's doctor. He always speaks highly of the work he has done for IU Medical Center. His opinion of the man is good enough for me.
  10. Trey Lyles opens up recruitment. Had verballed to IU. Gave the old, "IU is still my leader" response. Wants to compare IU to other schools. This should be interesting.
  11. I'm not sure how much of it is actually performance related. More than likely the Cubs have been given a list. They will now have the rest of the minor league season to look at those guys and decide on who they might want the most. There may be some protections in their in case of a Baker injury, but I don't his performance one way or the other will significantly impact who the Tigers will send back.
  12. nonsense. hope like crazy the nl gets DH Well there is always that I suppose.
  13. I just hope Vogelbach hits like crazy in the minors to where the Cubs can trade him to some AL team. I really don't see a future for him on the Cubs if Rizzo is everything people want him to be.
  14. Yeah, I know you have, as you should. Isn't there only one IU-Illini matchup this year?
  15. It's a bit refreshing to have people hating IU again as opposed to not caring for so long. That being said, the expectations on this team for next year are going to be crazy. I don't think there is a true #1 dominant team in the country, so I see why IU is in that discussion. They should be very athletic and deep, lots of speculation that they are going to incorporate a press defense as well.
  16. Watford won an ESPY. I didn't even know the ESPY's still existed.
  17. Interesting (free) piece on BP about Matt Murton, and other former prospects. http://www.baseballprospectus.com/a/17596
  18. Well this adds a bit more interest to tomorrow nights game. Wife and I are taking my son to his first game at Wrigley. Before this news, I can't say I was too thrilled with the Randy Wells/Dillon Gee matchup.
  19. http://www.baseballamerica.com/blog/draft/2012/05/what-to-do-with-duane-underwood/ Sounds like a good arm, but inconsistent. To be expected with a 17 year old kid though.
  20. He's in parentheses. What more do you want? But I totally believe we have a deal in place. Based on what? Many teams could be under the impression they have a deal with him, illegal, but possible. Hope the Cubs get him, but any talk of a secret deal already being done is all hypothetical speculation for now.
  21. Let's see what happens with Soler first. Not like the Cubs are going to be the only one on him.
  22. I'm not going all Kaplan on him, but it was a bonehead play. Whether they had a chance at 2 or not doesn't make it ok that he didn't know how many outs there were. Now I hope he comes up and gets the tying RBI. He is the best player on the team, but can get better.
  23. Not harmless to Samardzija. He has every right to be pissed. Castro's great, but he needs to quit doing that kind of crap.
  24. Castro obviously does have some mental issues in the field.. I'd want to kill him if I was Samardzija.
