  1. Just saw the last few seconds of the first half of the Gardner Webb/Illinois game. Seems like I missed quite the shooting display from both teams huh?
  2. Are you attempting to imply that IU is unfairly picked on by the NCAA? Really? It was tongue in cheek. It is a bit ridiculous though. It would be one thing if Indiana has been landing studs from this guy or through his program, but they aren't. I wouldn't want to steal the "NCAA is out for us" act, might upset some Illinois fans  Do you not think that if this situation was going on at UI, two kids suspended because someone donated $185 20 years ago, they wouldn't think it was ridiculous also? IU will be fine, like I said before, I didn't expect this to be reduced.
  3. Can't wait to see what happens to the other schools that have taken on A-Hope kids. 22 have gone to schools for basketball, 3 to IU. Watch out New Mexico, you took Obij Aget, tread lightly. Same for you Izzo and MSU. Hope Idong Ibok was worth it.
  4. Response from IU AD Fred Glass
  5. Never had my hopes up on this, but it does seem odd. If that isn't the whole story, then why not come out with it? Seems like this is the only technicality they can come up with. If they think there was something more sinister going on here, then come out with it. Oh well. I'll be there fit the "debut" against Butler.
  6. Very high level game, IU was lucky to escape that implosion on the final minute of regulation. The big question mark with this team was defense, and I've been encouraged with it so far. Tonight was unique because they mixed a lot of zone and man to man. It's obvious that the arrival of Ferrell has really opened things up for Hulls. Zeller needs to get a bit more aggressive.
  7. Sounds very Randy Wells-ish to me. 88-91. Gets hurt when leaves ball up, below to average secondary stuff. Had great stats, but the reports aren't very glowing. Health will always be a concern.
  8. Yes, yes he did. :-k
  9. If eligible, I bet Jurkin gets in tomorrow. He's healthy, been practicing and can give a few minutes up front if needed. If eligible, I'm sure both will play. I think Perea is over his foot issue. My comment had more to do with them probably not being granted eligibility for tomorrow night. Hoping it is at least reduced somewhat. Need those guys for UNC.
  10. Took IU 30 minutes to start playing, but they did enough in the final 10 to pull away. Hulls and Oladipo saved them tonight. Perea and Jurkin hearing is tomorrow. Theoretically they could play tomorrow, but I wouldn't count on it.
  11. Reminded me of the flagrant called on Sheehey last year in tournament game versus VCU.
  12. The first team to hit two consecutive free throws wins?
  13. You guys are hilarious. I think everyone signed but Williams, who will do so next week in his hometown. Apparently Bob Knight is on the call for the IU/Georgia game next week in Brooklyn. That will get all the old timey fans revved up.
  14. Those were former walk-ons, and there are no comments from them complaining about the situation. Kuric and Smith started from their Junior year. Call them whatever you want. They were starters that went off scholarship, not guys who never got to play.
  15. Looked ok. His value will be in his shooting ability. I think his days of cutting to the basket and such are over. They are trying to watch his time in practice, not wanting to overdo him. He will certainly contribute if healthy, but time will tell on that front. I was encouraged.
  16. Here is your link. There were actually three that went off scholarship, 2 of which were main contributors. http://content.usatoday.com/communities/campusrivalry/post/2011/06/kuric-two-others-taken-off-scholarship-will-be-walk-ons-at-louisville/1#.UKEreYc71zs
  17. Gotcha. I'm not unreasonable, even if I am an IU fan.
  18. You really want to compare the pro prospects of Watford and Zeller? Patterson ended up at Syracuse, I think he will be fine. His situation has been well covered. If Patterson was really screwed as many of you want to believe, why be so silent on it? Why wouldn't he blast the program? Crean's not the laughingstock many painted him to be his first few years. He turned this thing around before many thought possible. Hope you really enjoyed those few years because I don't see them returning very soon.
  19. I've never felt Zeller would stay. Apparently the kid will be just a few credits short of graduating in May. No reason for him to stay. Creek might want to get paid while healthy is my point. He deserves that opportunity given what he has been through. You don't know what will happen anymore than I do. Those were just the most likely scenarios. Back to Vonleh, Crean has by now proven to the top talent that IU is a good place to go to. I don't think that will change. He cancelled trips to OSU and Syracuse, that's says a lot for the attractiveness if the IU program right now.
  20. See what? IU has 4 seniors, plus Zeller. Zeller is not returning, I think that is quite clear. If Creek can prove he is healthy, he is a senior as well. He may want to start making some money overseas if given the opportunity. I recall reading he has a child on the way. Oladipo could enter the discussion of leaving early if he improves upon what he already showed as a sophomore. I think Crean has a handle on this situation, most likely a better one than you and I.
  21. Name a school who wouldn't take Vonleh if he wanted to commit.
  22. Crean is on quite a run.
  23. I'd entertain that stance if IU, the institution or coaching staff, was accused of doing something here, but they weren't. Its dumb. But like I said earlier, not much can be done. NCAA will do what they want. IU can appeal, but I wouldn't expect anything to come of it. Thank god Gary Harris is still eligible. IU will need him.
  24. Bilas starting to rant about it on Twitter
  25. 9 games for $185 dollars. Mark Adams, donated $185 dollars to IU from 1986-1992. Since these kids came through his AAU program, this was ruled as unlawful benefits. Neither of these kids were born obviously during this time. Seems crazy, but is what it is. Some of you will love this, but I'm thinking even you all might find this to be a bit absurd. I assume it could be worse, I think IU will still be fine, just thin for a bit without these two and Elston. Press Release:
