Now the lower tier guys are coming off the board. Wouldn't be shocked if we get a couple deals done in the next 48 hours. Conforto kinda feels like a must to get some power into the lineup. I like Mancini too. If we only get one, I kinda like a trade that lines up like Madrigal and a prospect like Bigge or Hodge for Luzardo and Joey Wendle. Adds more depth and both fit nicely though idk that Luzardo is a must with all the other depth we now have in the rotation.
I've wanted Jansen all off-season. Hedges just signed with the Pirates so that's another option off the board. I think what you have here is reasonable though with Wisdom I think it's an either/or with Belt and Turner. Also I feel like Keegan is too important the roster next year and beyond but maybe I'm over valuing him. Just nice to have finally developed an impact arm with him and Steele.
Finally. That's a surprisingly reasonable deal, especially considering the other contracts this off-season. I was expecting like 9 years 250 mil. I'll take this. Now get a catcher and another reliever and another starter and you have something.
I need something to happen. Does Caissie and Luke Little get it done for Danny Jansen? How about Christian Hernandez and Triantos for Varsho? Give Rodon 7 years. Idk I'm just spit balling.
Happy that Mervis is getting his due and people aren't forgetting Amaya but I'd have Canario and Wicks in there ahead of them. And that seems high for Ben Brown.
In my head I was thinking 2/30 so that's not terribly unreasonable on a one year deal. The defense should give him a decent floor for the season. Hope that bat turns around. Things are happening!
I prefer Danny Jansen to Sean Murphy but maybe that's just me and there probably isn't too big a difference. Both have pop and walk and are solid defensively and I think roughly have the same amount of club control.
Aside from Jensen those were all obvious choices. Good for Jensen though. Hope he has a good season. I didn't follow too closely, who are the top guys that didn't make the cut and exposed to the Rule 5?
I like him a lot and was able to chat with him after a game last season. The league figured him out pretty hard this year. Maybe he can get his swing back in Iowa. Maybe.
Great guy and a legend for the Game 7 speech but it's the right call. I've honestly been waiting for it for awhile now. So does he get to seek a trade and Cubs trade a prospect to find a taker or do we just eat a year of his salary and release him?
I dig it. He could absolutely rake before this year. Still just 27. Feels like Frazier never really got a fair shake. Also I love Tank but this probably means he's bound for the bench or Iowa shuttle.
