Well, then... Ken Rosenthal @Ken_Rosenthal 2m2 minutes ago Source: One combination that #Mets and #Brewers have discussed: Wheeler and Flores for Gomez. Again, no indication whether deal is close.
Zobrist would just be such a perfect addition to this team I'm surprised we haven't traded for him yet. I'll be kinda bummed if we don't get him, unless the price is really unreasonable.
Just throwing out there, what would packages look like for: -Tyson Ross/Wil Venable -Cespedes/Anibal Sanchez -Kazmir/Zobrist/Reddick -Carlos Gomez/Mike Friers I like the idea of some one-stop shopping for our needs.
LeMahieu is still garbage. He's been terrible since his BABIP-happy April. He's not a bad hitter and plays great defense, but he totally LaHair'd this appearance with an insane start to the season.
Not a trade rumor but FOX Sports' Ken Rosenthal reports that the Cubs are expected to target Howie Kendrick over the offseason. They'll have to free up the logjam on their infield first, which likely would involve trading Starling Castro. Rosenthal notes that the Dodgers could attempt to re-sign Kendrick, and the Yankees would be a possible landing spot, as well. Kendrick, who will turn 32 on Sunday, is batting .292/.342/.416 with seven homers and 36 RBI this season. I like Kendrick and all but I'm not sure 2B is what should be prioritized.
A couple of ex-Cubs on the move. The Dodgers have outrighted infielder Darwin Barney to Triple-A, according to MLB.com’s official transactions page. Barney was designated for assignment on Friday to create 40-man roster space for the newly-acquired Ronald Torreyes. Barney has only appeared in two big league games in 2015, and he has struggled to a .214/.273/.259 slash line over 121 Triple-A plate appearances.
Um, has anyone noticed how insane the back end of the Yankees' pen has been? Andrew Miller: 1.08 ERA, .072 WHIP, .094 BAA, 40 strikeouts in 25 innings Dellin Betances: 0.00 ERA, 0.75 WHIP, .103 BAA, 49 strikeouts in 29.1 innings
What the..... It's like remaking a movie with CGI....Did Michael Bay direct this remake? Seriously, though, looks good, will just take some getting used to. Was kinda jarring to see after all these years.
