yes because he was the most FEARED hitter. i'm glad rice got in because i'm sick of hearing about him. jim rice owes tens of thousands of dollars in autograph $ to the senile old sportswriter who first coined that phrase with respect to rice. -

i'm sick of this "he's so good as a swingman, you hate to start him" idea. i beat johan santana would be pretty good as a swing man...they should probably use him there. because nothing's more important than the guy that eats up three innings in a 9-2 loss.

That's a given considering USC blew out Ohio State and Penn State who beat Ohio State (who Texas could barely beat). One away game that they weren't up for cost USC the National Championship. USC 35 - 10 over Texas. texas wasn't "up for" the game last night though...and they still won! against a top 10 team! texas 42 - 13 over usc.
