  1. The problem could solve its self if Soriano wouldnt be such a about it and bat in the heart of the lineup. how would that make ramirez, lee and soto hit better?
  2. while i'm juggling brett myers, joe blanton, etc into my rotation, liriano has posted an 0.25 era in his last five starts at AAA. one earned run in 35 innings. a run. one.
  3. liriano's last five starts: 35 ip, 19 h, ONE er, 5 bb, 42 k. 0.25 era.
  4. joe blanton. pm me if i'm the high bidder.
  5. and that message was.....?
  6. who said he was? are we only allowed to discuss/complain about the cubs' #1 problem?
  7. i would like to tell myself that lee wouldn't have crapped all over himself so bad if they were only down one.
  8. you're right no way any of this gets back to the players he's sending a message to the players to pick it up and refocus on hitting because lee and ramirez have totally been focusing on the hit tv show so you think you can dance.
  9. i trust him to throw 92 mph batting practice every time he goes out there.
  10. i have terrible matchups for my pitchers and i have to face two harden starts. could be the end of my seven game win streak.
  11. dreaming about the cubs is one thing, this is something entirely different.
  12. ok, but none of uggla's errors cost the NL the game, so that'd be kinda stupid.
  13. both my fantasy teams are thinking about filing a similar grievance. he hasn't allowed a run in his last three starts (20 innings).
  14. you're welcome. good trade for both of us. you got a top 10ish, exempt 2b, and i got a catcher. besides, for a while you had THREE catchers in your lineup!
  15. could be some upsets due to the short week. hopefully my fifth (sixth?) catcher of the year will be the charm.
  16. Uggla will be the most hated man in Chicago (NS), New York (Mets), Philadelphia, Milwaukee, Miami, St Louis, Phoenix, and Los Angeles (Dodgers). Those are the home cities of the 8 teams with the most legit shot at reaching the playoffs, thus with a shot at the WS too. i really don't think any of those teams' fans will remember or care about what uggla did in the all-star game.
  17. man, you guys get fired up about the ASG.
  18. aside from all the errors, his defense has been great. damn you, arod, for buying stuff.
  19. Yeah, let's have 100 all stars a year!! Absurd. They had pitchers go 15 innings. There are regular season games where managers are on their last pitcher in the 15th. There was no problem. The all star game probably won't go 15 for another 20 years, no reason to make changes based on the worst case scenario. like they did after the tie a few years ago.
  20. it's funny how literally NO ONE thinks it should determine home field. not the players, not the fans, not the commentators, not the writers...no one. were people really that upset about the tie? i would think the only people who cared about that would be crusty old timers who woke up the next morning (they certainly didn't stay up that late the night before) and shook their fist at a cloud because games shouldn't end in a tie and in his day warren spahn threw 16 innings in an all-star game or whatever.
  21. well, i'm right. no one called him a bum...someone just said he was overrated.
  22. yeah, because everyone said he was a bum.
  23. come on...they played 15 innings of absolutely evenly matched baseball. i don't think you can make any definitive statement about either league based on that.
