  1. Wow, that inning had monstrosity written all over it. Kudos to Jake for minimizing the damage.
  2. If somebody could tell me it's too early to be alarmed by Russell striking out in 11/19 AB's, that would be swell. It's too early to be alarmed by Russel striking out in 11/19 AB's. It's too early to be alarmed by pretty much anything that happens in 19 at-bats besides injury, though I too would like to see better work at the plate Thank you. But if nothing else, it was good for a reverse jinx.

  4. Being the Cardinals, I'm confident that he'll miss two starts at most. Nothing keeps those boys out of action long. Well, there is one thing, but you know.
  5. LOL at the postponed game thread being longer than most 2011-2014 game threads.
  6. I have to assume that Vogelbach will be in Iowa any day. Maybe Schwarber. It's not like there's anything holding them back. Valaika's at 1B, and lord knows he's disposable. They have 3 catchers, two are organizational fodder, the other a garden variety journeyman.
  7. Vogelbach's like that bad ass courtesy car that you know you can't keep, so you better enjoy it while you can.
  8. Bah, Big Z could out-crazy every last one of them with one hand tied behind his back. With his belt.
  9. Gonzalez is a hard throwing relief pitcher. His stuff has been indeed impressive early on. I would like for him to keep it up. He is better than that guy who's awful.
  10. .414/.452/.552/1.003. And we're not talking about a part time player, he's their starting 2B with 17 games, 58 AB. Obviously he won't be putting up video game numbers all season, but between him, Donaldson, and to a lesser extent, Harrison, If we were still in a position where progress meant Castro not making an error, Brett Jackson only striking out twice, and Soriano's trade value not falling any lower, I'd be a bit worked up. But with things being how they are, it gets a smirk and a head shake.
  11. http://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2015/04/rangers-nearing-deal-to-acquire-josh-hamilton.html Unless by players, they mean big leaguers, that can't be possible. Can it?
  12. And the Angels are playing Rangers tonight, with Hamilton still an Angel for now. Gotta be some awkward going on in that dugout.
  13. The bad news is that it's no longer save situation, so we could very well see Schlitter next inning.
  14. The Hererra-Ross connection coming through! More please.
  15. not sure what you mean by resources. Nobody's looking to dangle Schwarber here. But if we can get, say Soriano for cheap, or Broxton for something we'd never miss, we could use the upgrade. Who knows when Ramirez and Grimm will be back, and there's really nothing in Iowa that promises to be any better than Schlitter and Coke.
  16. I don't know; the 5 ER he's given up have been in 2/7 games. Other than that, I'll take his 0/10 BB/K and 1.05 WHiP through 6.2 IP. And looking at the future prognosis of the Brewers, we should be able to get him for Junior Lake, a middling A prospect, and an envelope full of cash.
  17. Is there anyway to see what's going on with guys at extended Spring Training, or is it a 'Rule Number 1, There is no talking about Spring Training' kind of a thing?
  18. Good night so far from our remaining relevant prospects; Schwarber with a 2B Vog wit 2 BB Torres 2-2 McKinney 1-3 Burks 2 BB
  19. Considering they want the world for Hamels alone, probably the moon on top of that. But did they know just how awful they'd be? They have a bottom of the barrel big league team and BP ranked their farm system #20. They might be willing to budge for something closer to a moon or two. Back in the winter, Pap to the Brewers was supposedly a done deal, then it fell apart. Do we know what the Phillies were supposed to get and why it fell apart?
  20. Wondering what it would take to pillage the Phils for Pap and Hamels. Salary relief and?
  21. I bet any of them would trade one of those picks for Soler. Why in God's name would that even be on the table?
  22. Again, to ye of little faith and the outright disbelievers: :flame: Is there any chance of him being allowed to patrol LF via Segway?
  23. By no means one of the better ones, but I'll take good/less funny over bad/more funny any day.
  24. Who is this Jeremy Null and can I show some degree of interest without ridicule? 21 year old A baller who in his 27 professional innings has logged 2/26 BB/K.
