  1. July 1 allows for including a potential top end prospect plus 3 full months (including summertime) of play.
  2. I think that same throw on target still misses him, that "good throw" would have had to have been much harder.
  3. I think that same throw on target still misses him, that "good throw" would have had to have been much harder.
  4. These announcers have talked all game about what they perceive to be odd defensive alignments by the Cubs.
  5. Cohen and Hernandez going off on Kingman and how it "seemed that all his homeruns were hit when the Mets were up by 7 or down by 7."
  6. they had a chance to really push Harvey but they've been so aggressive he's right back at a comfortable pitch count
  7. Jackson seems to give up a lot of very solid contact
  8. Sure, but he got there with ease. If an OF runs very far to get to a fly ball but actually does get there and drops it, it is an error.
  9. Miles says it's a hit and an error. don't see how it's a hit. It was a slowly hit ball that was picked up cleanly with plenty of time to throw him out and if the 1B was any good he was out by multiple steps. The error is on the throw, the range was impressive. Thus the hit. Why thus the hit? It was a slowly hit ground ball fielded cleanly and with ease and he would have been out by a mile. Thus, there's no justification for a hit.

  11. Mets announcers are apoplectic on the Soriano scoring decisions (hit instead of blatant error)
  12. Keith Hernandez is talking about the great crowd at Wrigley right now and that it'll keep filling up. I guess in comparison to Citi Field that may be true.
  13. I just don't see how anybody could realistically and reliably rank guys past the 20-25 range, and even that is a stretch. People are just going to be listing names. You may be better asking for a list of 30 from people and in your consensus see where guys at the back end stack up.
  14. The goaltender is sometimes very good.
  15. I read this and was like who the eff is he talking about? Man, that took me awhile too. Yay high school Spanish. Should it not be more like Carl Newtown? Is villa really translated to house?
  16. nancy boys? Leave it to Texas to bring on the misogyny.
  17. Wait, he was recreating an actual play? What a douchebag.
  18. Given the fact that Jim Miller has been among the group of meatbally Cutler criticizers, I find this hire a bit interesting.
  19. There are different levels of flawed though. He didn't even make that list on this site that went to 50, and the guys at the back end aren't going anywhere. He wasn't even getting voted on. He got some money, but that was from the previous management group during a period when they were just throwing money at people to make up for lost opportunities. If a guy can't crack a top 50 list for his organization, as a 21-year old after 2 years as a pro, then he's well off the radar of having a meaningful prospect status on him. It's a stretch to compare ignoring him to ignoring everybody past the top 3-5 actual prospects. To be fair, Theo Epstein drafted Rock Shoulders but couldn't sign him the year before the Cubs got him. Perhaps because they didn't think he was worth the $300k that Hendry/Wilken gave him.
  20. The weirdest part is that it goes to 50.
