  1. well maybe, we'll see. but still, YES also this Dutch?
  2. Yikes. This guy says Frazier is the best player in the draft and says so matter-of-factly. Also says being a prep position player is one of the reasons he won't go 1.1. Yeesh. Similar thinking as the guy from perfect game that TT posted a couple weeks ago.
  3. I just want to face Detroit. Better than three weeks of west coast travel.
  4. And then 3 years from now he should be somebody's backup.
  5. So the only way to do that is for Hossa not to think about it or have Torres taken out in the first minute of the series. I don't see the point.
  6. Yeah, DeJesus has 12 PA against LHP this season (compared to Starlin and Rizzo with ~45 each) and he's got a sub 300 OPS in those PA.
  7. Which is just going to inspire them to run a Blackhawks star.
  8. There's no way this is true, right? Am I reading it wrong?
  9. are you asking us or telling us?
  10. Not sure what the point is of pretending like their degrees matter anymore once they've been drafted and sign a contract in the NFL.
  11. Futbol sure does lend itself to some serious crazy talk.
  12. Last year, I think It's been a lot longer than that. I'd guess a minimum of 4 years. It never forced him to miss any time while he was with the Cards, and I don't think it was as bad as it's been lately, but it was something that was talked about pretty regularly. ETA: According to Wikipedia, he was first diagnosed in the second half of the 2004 season. Wow, I completely missed that. I knew of his other health issues, but was completely blanked on that when I, like TT, was big on signing him. I remember it because I used the description of his issue to self diagnose it in myself (most likely inaccurately).
  13. It's a song they sing after winning games, so I'm not sure why people hate it so much. It's a really cheesy song, so I guess it's that. It's just always been there for me; 1984 was the first year I was a fan and it was a semi-big deal then, plus my parents bought me the damn thing and being a little kid I played it until everyone's ears bled. It's burned into my brain whether I like it or not. It was a thing in 1984?! I don't think that's right It was played on the radio when I was a kid, and then came back as a thing after the games more recently. I don't have any memory of it being played at the games back then, but I rarely went as a kid.
  14. As many issues as they've had with the bullpen I would think they'd want to hold onto him for next year at least just for the stability.
  15. Mac and Spiegs are gonna talk to Florio in a couple min about this issue. Florio? What does he know about anything?
  16. That's a bummer for a guy who is so far behind the developmental curve at his position.

  18. I would be fine with a lack of interesting storylines. Just wins please. like that

  20. It makes me wonder how much of this is based on reputation and perception instead of actual results. How much time/ energy do teams spend monitoring what other teams around the league are doing? That's what I mean with the comparison to pitching/hitting coaches in MLB. Every time one is hired we hire about how he is one of the best.
  21. I take issue with the notion that the Bears scouting staff has been very highly regarded around the NFL for years. This may be like the whole MLB hitting/pitching coach commentary where everybody is a respected expert in his field and therefore they are all good. The staffs that Hatley and Angelo put together originally probably were really good, because in my opinion the Bears in the mid-2000s were the most talented team in the NFC. Even their much maligned QB was very talented. But the talent has been drying up the last several years and that has to reflect on the staff, at least to some extent. They did a piss poor job of bringing in talent probably starting with the 2007 draft at least through the end of the Angelo era.
  22. Chris Kuc ‏@ChrisKuc 5m Duncan Keith is not on the ice for #Blackhawks' morning skate prior to Game 4. His wife is expecting any day so that may be the cause.
  23. Chris Kuc ‏@ChrisKuc 26s Game 5 of #Blackhawks-Wild series on Thursday will start at 8:30 p.m. at the United Center. Brandon, I am sorry you will have to miss this late game.
  24. Yes. So he was back yesterday (at the latest) and all the reporters were wrong, saying he was AWOL? Sounds like he came back yesterday. Reporters noted he was missing all weekend, not yesterday. Not sure who used AWOL, which is obviously incorrect, as he had leave, technically.
