I don't know why you keep saying that. Because its easy to imagine when they have money to spend how efficient things will be. They still had a very high payroll with lots of money to spend last winter and managed to put together a team that could be .500. What the F is impressive about that? Nothing.

no, the reason they were significantly better than the last 2 years was the emergence of guys like leddy/saad/shaw/kruger being able to adequetely replace the depth lost in versteeg/ladd/campbell/byfuglian etc Campbell wasn't just depth though. He was arguably better than any defenseman on this current roster. -

The ballsy correct call is a minor penalty against Detroit. The wimp out call is offsetting minors, and the typical call is nothing. -
Didn't he just face a couple and let 2 straight guys get on? Flowers grounded out and Greene walked, De Aza is left handed. Righties are hitting .214/.290/.250 against him this year. Like I said, he let him face a couple there and let 2 straight guys get on. Seems like an odd time to point out that he doesn't understand he is good against RHP. Up 5 he probably wanted to see the new guy and didn't feel like extending Russell. The bullpen is relatively fresh after a Shark complete game, rainout and a laugher. Plus they have 2 scheduled off days next week. Time to get some guys the work.

Changes from the last mock Draft are noted. 1. Astros: Jonathan Gray, RHP, Oklahoma The Astros are down to five candidates: two college pitchers (Gray and Mark Appel), two college hitters (Kris Bryant and Colin Moran) and one high schooler (Clint Frazier or Austin Meadows). There are whispers regarding Bryant and Moran, but Gray is still the pick. 2. Cubs: Mark Appel, RHP, Stanford With no change at No. 1, there's no reason to change No. 2. 3. Rockies: Kris Bryant, 3B, San Diego Same as above. If Bryant goes No. 1, then the Rockies could look at one of the big arms. 4.
