  1. I love a good notre dame loss as much as anybody but I’ll be damned before I cheer for duke
  2. I would be shocked, and I mean it. anybody wanna peanut?
  3. That’s not the point you attempted to make earlier. You complained that Fields didn’t let loose a 50 yard throw rolling to his left “Even without Mooney doing that, at the :7 mark Fields had an opportunity for a big pass. Just couldn't pull the damn trigger, as always. ”
  4. Dude. You’re wrong. at 7 seconds fields is on the 25 and mooney is on the opposite ~27/28 yard line and is running laterally, not back to the ball. If fields makes that throw best case scenario is out of bounds.
  5. 50 yards in the air on the run off back foot?
  6. A pass here is begging to be intercepted. The guy is right on his hip. A perfect pass to the outside should is a possible completion, but he’s on the run. It’s not terrible to hold onto the ball.
  7. That is a real dumb interpretation of that video. The lineman was giving the universal sign for “this is not going to be an illegal block”. Unnecessarily I might add, since he had time and space to make an impact on the rushers trajectory, but that’s not hard to interpret.
  8. Trouts next team will be Philly. He’s heavily invested in south jersey, building a golf course there and probably preparing to retire there in next few years when he breaks
  9. Absopositively. You use one on Maye then offer up the 2nd to whoever wants the other guy. not even a question
  10. If they have the pick and Maye is their guy, they use that pick to select Maye - full stop.
  11. The point is this is not some sort of grand plan from Poles. He acquired DJ because he wanted to make it work with Fields now. He wasn’t thinking ahead to 2024 draft, when god knows what qb will be available and where you will pick. Poles planned to win 8+ games this year. He didn’t acquire DJ Moore because he’s more valuable than a 2025 pick. He doesn’t have until 2025. At this rate Moore won’t finish his contract with the Bears.
  12. Except he’s not. A couple wasted prime years for a guy while destroying his value for next and likely final contract.
  13. Listening to Hoge and Jahns podcast and some jamoke called in and said “how is this team worse after spending all that money?” THE BEARS DIDNT SPEND ANY MONEY!!! They left huge holes for two consecutive years on purpose. They struggled to get up to the minimum requirement. Why do people ignore this? Goddamn fans are stupid.
  14. Getsy was a grad assistant for one year at Pitt when Janocko was playing there. Outside of that they had no crossover as coaches. There should be plenty of difference between the two. But you also have the WR coach/ passing game coordinator that could step in.
  15. For those of us non x-men, car to share the results?
  16. Football coaches are pretty dumb people. They are gym teachers at heart who pick their favorites early and stick with them longer than they should while holding grudges against others based on random stuff. You probably can’t be a successful nfl head coach and a moron, but you can stick around the league and the sport in general just through relationships.
  17. A competent GM and head can do it in one season. Poles cannot. In part because he apparently doesn’t want to improve.
  18. Even that provides some closure. If Peterman (or Lincoln Hawk’s kid) can win 8 games with this roster we know Fields is done and the rest of the roster is adequate. They have a chance to put two more blue chippers into the system while holding down QB for another season or two while drafting developmental guys every year. Eventually you get the Kyle dream scenario of fixing everything else first then adding a QB when you are ready. I just don’t have confidence in the current regime capitalizing on 1/2 in draft or the powers that be replacing that regime with the right guys. if this season ends with the bears pick in top 2, it’s still probably 60/40 Poles gets to make that pick. If they do fire him it’s probably 60/40 the new guys make the wrong decisions. Once you enter the hole of abysmal football, it is very difficult out to climb out.
  19. Yeah, that seems like a no brainer. Finishing the year above expectations after losing 2 winnable games and an expected blowout loss means Fields is fixed. Its not going to happen, but I’d take it.
  20. Is there any guy on this defense that matters enough to waste your hope on?
  21. Very excited for him to be the one useable offensive lineman on the roster next year
