reasonable? .230/.300/.400, ~2 WAR pace he can also take ABs from Barney (Valbuena to 2B), and Rizzo vs. LHP I get the feeling the guy could be very good if he's actually able to play well enough to justify a spot on a major league team. If 2013 was a fluke of a season, then hasn't he shown he's capable of a lot more than that? If 2013 wasn't a fluke, then he's not doing that well anyway.

If you take out the one line about how it is "weird" that we ignore these guys (and he cited other teams/players here) and just read the other quotes, it doesn't seem at all like he wants it to happen.

Weird choice in title. That was not my interpretation of his answer to the question while listening live. He did mention how it was weird that we basically don't acknowledge these people, but that was balanced both before and after with words and body language that indicated to me he's got very little interest in doing that. He basically said he doesn't see it happened and blamed it on not wanting to offend tight asses.

speaking of Baez, on that earlier Kaplan/Haugh interview with Ricketts, it was noted that Kaplan wants the Cubs to sign Baez to a longterm extension now.

mostly. Much moreso than it is about making sure he actually dominates AAA. Much more than Epstein himself lets on.

Why does Baez need to prove himself at AAA? Is there something he specifically is not doing well yet, or is this just a Theo philosophy that all prospects need to dominate at that level? If it's the latter, that's pretty bizarre. There have been top prospects who skipped AAA and did just fine -- obviously. Yes, he has further developing to do. He needs to further develop his plate discipline and show that he can handle some craftier pitching (kind of hand in hand, for that matter). And I don't see what's bizarre about expecting your players to dominate every level of the minor leagues before being promoted. Certainly the results of Theo's systems can't really be argued with. Let's not pretend this isn't entirely about the money. They have to say that he needs to develop more because they cannot say how stupid it would be to call him up for opening day from a financial perspective.

your boy parks said the same thing. probably put some weight on. i remember someone posting some shirtless pic from his instagram and commenting that he had some muscle on him. also remember that he's only 19. He's 19? How is that possible? I was thinking 21. He turns 20 in a month. He was drafted in 2012 at the age of 18. -

if that goes on forever we do have to work on other locations (said dismissively) but we aren't treating wrigley just like any other stadium. We've handled it by being respectful of what Wrigley is.
