I've heard that from a lot of sources (Mayock, Jeremiah, Walter and probably a couple others I'm forgetting now). I agree with you that teams that take a QB not named Bridgewater will regret it, but I'm not sure that Bridgewater will be as good as Rodgers. I didn't mean to compare his skills or success specifically, moreso the Rodgers draft day fall and how many teams regret passing on him. I see a lot of Matt Ryan in Bridgewater (if you're allowed to compare a black QB to a white one). I don't think I would regret not drafting Matt Ryan.

FFS, he wasn't wild; he got some bad/borderline calls against him and made a bad choice tying to Get Dunn to swing at a low one. I don't care about the walks, he threw 127 pitches in a game that means nothing. So what? Unless it becomes a trend it's not a problem. you know this how?

I don't think that was ever going to happen regardless ... prevailing wisdom before the season was he'd have a good level of success in iowa and be called up after the control deadline or whatever the [expletive] you call it That may have been widely assumed, but many people thought they would look to hold him back through the 2015 deadline along with Bryant, and start it all then. -
Because LFC probably blew any chance they had of winning the title by virtue of that 3-goal chokejob. And all the players know it. Between Gerrard's first touch/slip last week and this, they've blown a chance at their first title in 25 years. I get that, I just thought maybe he did something specific, because nobody else looked like they were crying.

I completely forgot that Rizzo had cancer and when it was pointed out to me today I suddenly felt really bad about the whole tinyface thing. I hate feeling like that. [expletive]' Rizzo. He didn't have face cancer. But still; cancer. A lot of terrible people have had cancer. For all we know he faked it to get out of trouble when he asked his girlfriend to stop hanging around minorities.

Abreu is also "the new guy" while Rizzo has now been around for quite a while in Chicago, and all of that time has been for a team that loses a lot of freaking baseball games. Abreu plays for a team that has been surprisingly competitive this year and actually above .500 as recent as last week.

I wonder how hard it'd be to get into that if it were in Chicago. As much as I enjoy the draft, it does not seem like it would be something fun to be at. going strictly by the people who line up outside Radio City every year I would have to agree. Also, spending any amount of time watching it on tv just solidifies that idea.

That's not why this happened. Why are you so freaking good at saying dumb [expletive]? So what situation did you want to save Rondon for? It's the 9th inning of a tied game, you are home team…when is the save situation going to happen? So either you are saying we simply can't use him in this game because he's the closer or you have to use him in a non-save situation. He has been one of our best relievers, why wouldn't you use him then? If you bring in someone else and he blows it, you'd be bitching because he didn't use Rondon. I think it would have been nice maybe to not use him for the third day in a row. The Cubs have 8,000 relievers but similar to years past there are apparently only 2-3 guys who pitch every day and 2 more who never pitch.
