  2. that works for videos too? I've never bothered with the work computer.

  5. The versatility talk is about how he can play outside as well as in the slot, cover tight ends and receivers, plus make tackles on run plays and blitz. It's not about being a safety.
  6. He's not moving to safety and playing nickel will give plenty of playing time in his rookie year. You are very dismissive of nickel backs despite the necessity of using them all the time.
  7. Or maybe the swag of 1970s dad with the unbuttoned shirt in the Coldwell Banker ad? Explain. Did you see the ad that ran before the video?
  8. It's weird because this is the first time the Bears have taken exactly who I wanted. Fuller's probably my second favorite high round pick in the last five years besides Alshon Jeffery (good call) and just ahead of the Gabe Carimi pick (whoops). That was how I felt about Bryant last year. I can't remember but I think David Terrell may be the last time that happened for me with the Bears.
  9. what was he saying? Reminds him of Yaz So he hates him?

  11. I think you are misinterpreting what people have said. I see a couple people who hate the pick because he wasn't a safety, some people who really like it and some who are just fine with it.
  12. You cannot make "need" that important in a draft.
  13. With the number of DTs available, one of them should fall to 51. Jernigan might have a better chance than the others because of failed drug test. Not sure all will last to 51, so when two remain Emery should start casually working the phones and as soon as only one is left, look to be aggressive and jump up. That's assuming of course his boards look something like the consensus boards. For all we know he will like a LB in that range over the DL. So, not like this: http://resources1.news.com.au/images/2010/04/13/1225853/397641-made-men-don-draper.jpg More like this: http://itsguycode.com/images/stories/draper/don-draper-6.jpg

  15. your post is pretty [expletive] stupid to me perception is reality
  16. Yeah, after two first round "risks" the last two years, he might've felt like he needed to play it safer this year. With one of those (and the most recent) having worked out very well, not sure why that would be his reasoning. I don't think he went safe in direct response to 2012/2013, but rather now that it is his third draft he takes full ownership of 2014 results and he needed a guy he was reasonably assured could produce from day 1.
  17. This is true. He's clearly set to play a whole bunch in his rookie season, even if he does not fit on an old fashioned depth chart as a "starter". It actually fits in exactly with all the other signings Emery made, which seem designed to make the defense defense, if not particularly great.
  18. I feel like this was a bit of a safety pick. Fuller seems to fit the part of a guy who can play in the NFL and hold his own, but he does not look like a difference maker. Kind of interesting to me that Emery took a guy that does not have impressive measurables, given what many (including myself) interpreted as an obsession with stand out physical presence. He likes 'em big and fast and while this guy isn't small, he's not a beast and he's not fast. I guess the ability and willingness to tackle is what stood out the most. I can't bemoan "missing" on a safety. Outside of the very few elite, those pieces are interchangeable. And as others have pointed out, improvement on the line will make the safeties less of an issue.
  19. Dan Jiggets does not look like a healthy man.
  20. Manziel is going to crash and burn. Probably could not have asked for a better destination for him to fail. But that is true about how he phrased that. Maybe "possible franchise QB" is better. Probably more accurate, at least. EDIT: It's basically opportunity cost. The Browns had an opportunity to have Bridgewater and, say, Bishop Sankey or Andre Williams. Instead, they have only Manziel, who isn't as good as Bridgewater and has a higher likelihood of not becoming a franchise QB. That's worse than simply taking a good player earlier than you should. The goal is to put together the best team possible and the Browns hindered themselves more toward achieving that goal than the Eagles did by taking a lesser player than other options but not giving up a very valuable pick to do so. While that makes sense, the idea with QBs is you pick the one you think is best. They aren't irreplaceable parts.
  21. what is dead may never die
  22. nah man we're in a good spot. emery and trestman is a top 5 brain trust in the NFL I hesitate to go that high, but they are good.
  23. I think LB is much easier to hide your weaknesses. The Giants won a SB with nothing but street garbage playing LB.
