  1. It would make more sense if this was more about a fear that Castro is going to regress again rather than clearing the way for Russell.
  2. You think his wife allowed his poor ass to have sex with her within the past couple years? I doubt it.
  3. I think it would be insane. There were people who thought he would start this year in MLB. It's not THAT crazy to get him to AAA. I don't think it will happen, though. Seriously? He turned 20 in January. It's hardly unheard of or close to insane.
  4. One of the big reasons he got traded is that he complained that he wasn't getting the chance to start. I saw an unsubstantiated mention that he might've tanked some out of the bullpen in protest. Don't know any other details around that whole situation, but that's the situation being referenced in all likelihood. What are his feelings on chicken and beer.
  5. Oh yeah Fwiw, I could see a trade working here, precisely because Castro is really valuable and teams know it.
  6. Gonzales was quick to retweet the ejection, but with no context.
  7. some tom waddle/craig kilbourn-esque looking dude making a funny face It's Craig James http://i.imgur.com/oQtJ20as.jpg The hooker killer?
  8. http://media.cinemasquid.com/blu-ray/titles/o-brother-where-art-thou/6b2850da-78a0-4260-bbe7-4e56ada9d389/screenshot-sml-10.jpg
  9. It could happen...if the defense improves enough. Well first, he'd have to be healthy all season. But also, the media doesn't like him. The only way they'd vote for him is if they had little choice. I'd think he'd have to make the Super Bowl at a minimum...if not win it. isn't voting done prior to the playoffs?
  10. It could happen...if the defense improves enough. If the Bears win a lot this year it will probably involve a crap ton of fancy passing stats by Cutler, which will automatically make him a candidate.
  11. TV market would be Chicagoland area, just like the Jets/Giants tv market is the NY metropolitan area. From a which state do these teams play in standpoint, it would be Indiana just like the Jets/Giants play in New Jersey. As a point of argument, please give the full names of the teams you are referencing. As I said, a Chicago Bears team playing in the state of Indiana could still be called the Chicago Bears, but would not be referred to as an Illinois based team. Likewise, the New York Giants and New York Jets are not New York State teams.
  12. well the cubs are already a day ahead of that pace and I gotta feeling things have already started to turn around for us.
  13. Has to be a pretty clear "let's throw this out there and see what happens" account, no?

  15. Seriously, all the whining about being picked on and not having your hand held gently along the way is just silly.
  16. It's not that it makes you not post, but the majority of the time it isn't necessary. Most of the time, approaching a post from the position of, "That's wrong, and here's why..." is just as effective as, "ZOMG, you're such an idiot, and here's why..." Telling someone they're dumb is not necessary. Effectively break down their argument and they'll probably realize their post was dumb on their own. Well, the latter takes a lot more effort and this isn't a job, it's a time wasting device.
  17. Or we could try to correct those uninformed opinions. Let's not pretend that we don't enjoy when a meatball comes on here spouting ignorance and we all jump in to get our licks in. This exactly. As someone who has been reading these boards for years as an outsider, I can tell you there are obviously a bunch of smart posters here. But among those posters, there's a fairly sharp divide between the ones who use their knowledge to correct meatball-ish opinions and who actually do challenge you to think more critically about statistical analysis...and those who are just chomping at the bit to obliterate you with a scarcastic response and a snarky gif. I think everyone drifts into that territory from time to time (and maybe rightly so sometimes) but some people live there and it can be quite offputting to infrequent/non-posters. Just the two cents of someone kind of on the outside looking in. Exactly, they created the environment and have been living in it for so long they can't even recognize when they are being A-holes. *shrug* it is what it is. plenty here worth reading on a daily basis. that's what keeps me here. **wtf did the "!'s" come from Can you tell when you are being a whiny baby?
  18. nope are you playing the "Giants/Jets play in NJ" game? Not playing a game. Those two teams play in New Jersey. Nobody would claim a Chicago Bears team playing in Indiana was an Illinois team.
