Your theory only makes sense if you can be assured of actually acquiring an "exceptional defensive catcher" through other means. You can't be assured of that.

Stuff like this makes me hate us not having a Hard Knocks even more I think we would discover that nobody likes Forte. Why In that video it looks like he was by himself the whole time, while most of the others were with some teammates.

Huh? He's had to pay huge fines for among other things, not hiring blacks because, "you can't fire them" and women because they have babies. His company has provided bribes and kick backs to defense contractors. They let him buy the team so they could move them to the AL. How does this situation "go to show you" anything about that?

The eyes and nose specifically are oddly close together (and just small) for a big man with a big head like his. There is a lot of forehead, cheek and chin surface area, or outer face if you will. -

Why should the kids' adviser shut up? He absolutely should speak up on his behalf. because he's bitching like the the Astros OWE him 6.5Mil. If they think he's got a shaky elbow, then they dont owe him anything. If i'm an astros fan and this guy is headed for TJS, i'd much rather have the 2nd pick next year. Even more so because eff all the pitchers. Okay, then if you are an Astros fan you can go ahead and express that wish, but in the meantime it is his adviser's job to advocate on behalf of the player.

Counterpoint: we continue using a very easily understood concept and stop getting upset for it not meeting an arbitrary standard that it was never intended to meet or measure Ceiling isn't nearly as problematic as is the tendency for a lot of fans to assume the best of prospects until they have proven beyond a doubt that the best is not happening. If you have a realistic opinion of prospects' chances there is nothing wrong with the concept of discussing their ceiling*. Does not apply to the way people divvy up pitching ceilings.

There was a whole lot more to it than that. Yeah, I don't get David's frustration. It's not like everybody gets the ceiling of superstar. Lake was a long shot who had enough physical talent that if he miraculously figured things out, he could be pretty awesome.

The defense, or the team? I could easily see Tucker keeping his job with the defense failing to reach the top 15. If the team itself finishes in the bottom half there could be problems for a lot more coaches.
