  1. Bruce Miles ‏@BruceMiles2112 42s #Cubs DFA Darwin Barney as they activate Bonifacio off the DL
  2. Ha, I was just about to post that. He looks jacked. Subtitles? What kind of conceited movie snob would watch this drivel? I vote football in the groin.
  3. Jesus Christ...this is the response to a glowingly positive report and #1 ranking? Also, Pierce isn't that good and all he said was that he hasn't been effective at AA, which is pretty much true. Sue the guy for not getting every last detail about every player's arbitrary end points. Hey now mister you know the rules, any negative commentary about anything related to the farm system is unwarranted and must come from a biased viewpoint.
  4. the junior lake comparison makes me want to curl up into a ball and cry If Junior Lake could hit homeruns whenever he wanted and had the patience to take some walks at twice the rate he actually did, then I think he would be pretty useful.
  5. Hope all you listeners like your sports takes hot. DOES JAY CUTLER HAVE ANY MORE EXCUSES? I DON'T THINK HE HAS ANYMORE EXCUSES!
  6. Sure, teach him to play cf and he'll be fine.
  7. I had to go back and look what was said, my goodness how is the vogelbach reputation what it is with people? Just because he has to be a offensive beast to be worth anything does not mean he is an offensive beast.
  8. Soler better not still be on that list a year from now. If he's down, something is wrong.
  9. i have posted extensively about my scott bullett love in the past. great man. I remember some video game with him as the centerpiece of my cubs lineup. Those were the days.
  10. In what way? I don't think teams are supposed to be directly negotiating with "advisors." So his statements serve as proof that he was an agent? What about Casey Close's own statements about negotiations?
  11. Not if we suck enough to get the #1 overall pick It'll even suck then because if there's a clear No. 1 pick, he'll have the Astros' massive signing pool whispering promises into his ear. And if the Cubs select them first they will just choose not to take the slot and wait another year in hopes of Houston or another team being in the same mega slot situation?
  12. I can't imagine him getting traded in a deal that would upset me. If they do trade him(doubtful) it would probably be for something very useful and good, which would make me happy.
  13. The Dempster and Garza trades were fine, but aren't really the foundation for the "great farm system" reputation. (I like Hendricks and think he could be effective; Ramirez has been surprisingly good; and I'm still hopeful that Edwards will be pretty good in whatever role, although I no longer think it will be as a good rotation starter. Olt, Villanueva, Grimm, busts or insignificant.) I don't think McKinney is either, and conceptually I see him primarily as the "other" pitcher, Russell as the Samardz value. So I kinda see Russell as really being the only big-time core guy that came via trade of inherited pitchers. Bryant, Baez, Soler, Alcantara, non-trade guys. Arrieta was a pitcher trade, non-inherited. And Rizzo.
  14. AHHHHHH JONATHAN QUINN IS ON CNBC'S AMERICAN GREED SHOW RIGHT NOW!!!
  15. callup coming. they just wanted him to enjoy the futures game Means Alcantara is sticking in the OF..Hopefully this also means Barney is on his way out or some type of trade is coming so they then can easily promote Baez to play 2B alongside Castro. I don't think it really means much of anything.
  16. you want your jackson earlier? i mean the sooner you get it out of the way the better unless he's starting 2 days later.
  17. Which would seem to me to indicate there is plenty of time before we can expect him to be in the majors. That's all I'm trying to say. I think he's going to take a little more time at this level than Baez. How old was Castro when he started in AA? Castro was 19 in AA.
