  1. Jay Glazer ‏@JayGlazer · 13m Vikings players were informed this morning that Matt Cassel will be the starting QB in Minnesota over Teddy Bridgewater
  2. and as if the Cubs have something to be rubbing
  3. If you have similar expectations for the short term between Jackson and some alternative, it's probably better to prioritize that alternative if they have more team control. Especially since control also means that they're of an age that is more desirable for short and long term production(Wada excluded). I fail to see how the control aspect of that is meaningful at all. Their age, sure. Maybe they have more upside, but control is meaningless for that discussion.
  4. uhhhhhhh, javy, you don't have to take the fastballs won the middle
  5. or keep him Also an option. Not one I'm particularly fond of with the depth of similar caliber players(many with age/team/control/recent performance on their side) already in the mix for next year, but if Atlanta wants us to pay both contracts or something silly like that, you aren't *forced* to trade him. well, the "control" aspect of those other guys really doesn't matter in the debate about what to do with Jackson.
  6. I was not expecting that to result in an out
  7. left handed bats doing things although I feel like the Cubs have an inordinate number of LH hitters with the complete opposite of the traditional smooth-looking left handed swing.
  8. that weber grill ad looks dumb not quite warning track power
  9. So who is responsible for how good Baltimore has been? I thought these guys were doomed to failure after taking some people that used to run the draft for the Cubs, Stockstill? They've been playing at a 90.6 win pace for the past three years.
  10. somebody go agitate in cuba, we need new defects
  11. While we need to spend on pitching, hitting is still a need. Yes indeed. If the strategy is to have an awesome offense and a stable/okay pitching staff, then they are still a very long way away from having an actually awesome offense.
  12. Soler's single would have been a HR in other parks. He hit it so hard he couldn't even get a double out of it. Couldn't, or lazily refused to?
  13. perspective If you can even pretend it is important enough to watch, the only "important" part is the first half, and the only truly late part will be the completely meaningless fourth quarter.
  14. Not sure how you can go from 5/55-60 expectations to 6/72 and suddenly it's a dramatic overpay.
  15. what witch hunt? poor tom being poor tom more like it. a conservative slum lord behaving like one. I was one of the first Ricketts haters here. All I meant by witch hunt is GW spends every article around finding new ways to bring up Ricketts cheapness. Maybe witch hunt was the wrong wording, since its true. Maybe you just notice the articles where he points it out.
