    Yeah, they've been all over Javy. I've been surprised that the national media hasn't latched on a bit harder. it's pennant race time, the Cubs are way out of the race and javy has a 600 OPS. I would not expect the national baseball media to care much about the Cubs right now.

    I signed up 9/2013 (I think) and had that number as of the last time I checked which was sometime this summer. Something's not right. I signed up in 2011 and I'm at 55,000

    Yes, but as TT said, they black out the game unless you subscribe. They used to force you to a separate EI channel, but with the EI sub you can just keep it on the same channel (665, or 666 for CSN+).

    That basicly just counts people who are watching CSN? or does it somehow include people with mlb subscription packages? I can't imagine many people outside the Chicago area can get CSN right? I know I can't. Seems like WGN games would be a better indicator of what a large nationally availible network could expect for ratings. You aren't getting a large nationally available network to bid on the Cubs, unless you account the national availability of regional sports networks via Extra Innings. The money is going to be based on the revenue such a network would expect to draw in Chicago. Well that sucks. One of the that I hate about extra innings is that it's on a delay and I'm getting updates on myphone before I see them on the screen. Seems like a national network would see the Cubs as a huge opportunity, but then again I don't really know squat about the business of national cable broadcast tv. If you are watching the games why don't you just not stare at your phone at the same time?

    Apparently it was from the team notes: @JordanBernfield Checked 2008, #Cubs had longer home winning streak. Stat I tweeted was from team's post game notes. Thanks @AlexBerngard for the tip. 12 years is a really long time to go without winning six home games in a row. Seems like something you'd double check no matter where it came from. at least, you know, check that one year when the Cubs were the best team in the league. This reminds me of the writers who all blamed USC for not fact checking the "saved his 7-year old cousin from drowning story." Some of them were all like, "what were we supposed to do if the team told us this is what happened?"

    As much as I love Cutler I'm just having a hard time seeing this. Realistically I'm expecting something like 4400 yards, 30 TD, 16 INT. Might sneak into the Pro Bowl, but I can't convince myself of more. Of course some of it depends on how the Bears fare. Stats-wise though, I have a hard time seeing how he could outperform Brees/Rodgers. I think it is pretty obvious how Cutler could win an MVP. He hasn't put up MVP numbers to date, but he's in the same quality system for the second year in a row for the first time in forever. If things go well for the Bears this year, it will mean Cutler will have amazing numbers. This is no lock, of course. But it seems pretty obvious how Cutler would be in the MVP conversation.
