    these ratings, especially in one game, have to be taken with a large grain of salt.

    Even if some sort of investigation proves that people at the top saw the video and then they lied about it, I cannot imagine too much of a backlash. Maybe some deputy loses his job and a sponsor gets replaced by another waiting in the wings. I'm thinking more in terms of public outcry.     What is the deal with that? Are they going with fewer off days or just playing later into October? the calendar. MLB opens Sunday night and this year that would be March 29th.

    i had never heard this all i remember was him very publicly reluctantly taking on the role as the lead guy once urlacher was gone. after very publicly saying he was sick of being the second guy and wanting the lead dog* role *or some other similarly meaning phrase

    Him chasing the mobile QB indicates to me he might be trying to improvise and his declining athleticism plus lack of quality teammates covering for him, are making him pay.

    San Francisco didn't do anything yesterday apart from what Tony Romo gifted them. I wasn't impressed. I'm not really panicking on the Bears, but really, the same thing could be said of the Bears....Buffalo didn't do anything yesterday other than what the Bears gifted them. Wouldn't that be a good thing (relatively speaking) and a point in US's favor, then? If the Bears had to gift-wrap it to lose by 3, that's a lot better than them playing as well as they should and losing. Same goes the other way for what US is saying (although jersey is right that they didn't HAVE to do anymore). I do not see how anybody can say the Bears gift wrapped that game. They played a relatively weak team at roughly the same level.

    Briggs is probably going to be the latest Chicago sports guy to be run out of town by a lynch mob. This is the kind of news that never would have made the light of day if the pitchforks weren't already out. That said, he appears done as a football player. Based on his age, contract, and performance yesterday, fans have a right on Monday morning to be upset with his performance. Staying out late gives dumb fans the right to be upset about that, although they should be upset for what he's making for declining skills. For an older dude on the decline physically, even the staying out late aspect is bothersome. A 24 year old can get away without that affecting him physically.     Not sure I follow. When he first became commissioner, it seemed like he was tougher with discipline. No? He is still a hardass on certain issues.

    I wonder if the refs can call another penalty to give the Bears one last chance to win this game.

    But this is a team that regularly shoots itself in the foot. They are a touchdown underdog for a reason. There is no reason to pretend they aren't a deserving underdog. Everybody in the world wrote this off as a Bears loss since the day it was scheduled. Week 1 results change nothing about that.
