    Oh no doubt injuries mattered. Probably goes hand in hand with the tougher road to finals being from that division. but Vegas has talent and are not a surprise finalist. Sure a sweep is a shock, but not a win.

    Marginal talent? Vegas was a Stanley cup contender entering the season. They have Jack Eichel and Mitch Marner on the top line. Those are two guys the hawks are praying their own players turn into. Mark Stone is better than anybody the hawks can dream of being in their third line. They don’t have a superstar D but their D is much more stable and dependable than Chicago. Their goalie is probably a rapist Canadian maga guy everybody should hate, but the team has plenty of talent. they also got to play a cupcake division and first two rounds of playoffs in comparison to Colorado going up against Dallas and Minnesota all season and the wild in playoffs.

    10 wins just isn’t that hard in a 17 game season. 12-15 teams have won 10+ all three seasons we’ve had 17 game seasons. 10 wins won’t be a heck of a feat. The over/under is 9.5, there’s a good chance they get 10. That still means 7 losses. Now, 12/13 wins, that’ll be a heck of a feat. Only 4/5 losses on that schedule, now you got a stew cooking

    It’s an important step but not a big deal today. He probably won’t be a big difference maker in 2026/27. He’s been expected to come over this summer all along so it’s not a surprise. but he is a guy you can expect to play top 6 minutes and Chicago is desperate for top 6 guys, instead of a bunch of 3rd/4th liners playing up by default. He has star potential but more likely a good support player if they are able to draft one of the top 2 forwards this summer the forward group can look a lot better next season. What they need to do is trade some of their very significant draft capital for a good expensive player to kickstart their ascendance. if you can have 6 legit F in your top 6 plus Nazar as your 3rd line guy, suddenly you have legit scoring depth and will make life difficult for opponents.     CBS yahoo and mlb all had the same 6/6 final issue. ESPN was correct. Assume some of those have the same underlying service provider

    So realistically, they probably aren’t trading the pick and will end up with a quality D prospect at 4, unless once of the top two guys drop or they reach for the 3rd best F. given that D men take more time to develop, the fact that they are currently overstocked on D doesn’t really matter. They can draft that guy, let him play college or junior, sign him after 2026/27 season, send him to AHL for 27/28 with hopes of being an NHLer for 28/29. Meanwhile, the 7ish young D men fighting for NHL spots currently should be whittled down to 5 or fewer by then. Vlasic will be nearing the end of his contract. Crevier may have leveled out. Rinzel/Lev/Korchinski could have fizzled out. Kaiser may have priced himself out of the roster. New guy slots right in. the problem is they still need F help. Perhaps the 3 firsts for next year can be packaged for something. But I really think this years #4 should be dangled for anybody looking to shed a quality F in the interest of rebuilding.

    we have to hope he’s got some sort of moneyball level awareness of how rushing the passer is an overrated ability. I wonder if his obsession with freak athletes hurts his ability to scout young pass rushers some of those guys have the measurables but plenty are just good football players
