  3. yes Follow up question: Why would they not do that? It seems like they have the cap room for it. Huge cost and cap hit for an older corner with injury history. He turns 30 this season and it's all downhill from here, so it would be an inefficient use of resources.
  4. Yeah, I'm not buying that. Are they denying talk of trading Cutler or that there were "trade talks". Talk of trading Cutler is pretty much guaranteed to have happened, internally. I'm very much pro-Cutler and think it is a no-brainer, but it would have been a dereliction of duty for the new regime to not at least discuss the issue. I do think there were never any actual trade talks, which would involved other teams.
  5. I know anti-vaxxers. And in my experience it is the mom being deathly afraid of what Jenny McCarthy and her ilk have told them and the dad just going along for the ride or a dad with a severe conspiratorial bent who convinces the wife they don't need that stuff (because in the real world parental roles are not split 50/50). It seems pretty clear that Jay defers to his wife and what he perceives as her expertise on the matter. That is negligent, but not the same as not giving a [expletive] what happens to his kids.
  6. It won't be any easier next year. It's now or two years from now (or even further on).
  7. Theo should tell him he will have Bryant break camp with the MLB team if he allows a DH in the NL The mlbpa aren't the ones preventing the dh
  8. But they got their man at coach It's gotta make you at least question if ownership should have remove Baalke from the situation, instead of allowing him to fire Harbaugh. Uhhh, the entire 49ers offseason has made people question everything they are doing.
  9. Mort and schefter say bears expect cutler to be the qb. Beat writers have been saying they expect jay to stay.
  10. Cutler is a 'first class douche.' I'd think Kaep is more of a 'second class douche.' #progress Cutler is not a douche at all, anti-vaxxer wife aside. He's a [expletive] bad ass. Kaepernick is, in fact, a douche, however. jay himself is an anti-vaxxer. they're his kids too. He's probably not that attached.
  11. His M.O. is to just be skeptical about every story, but start out by saying, "look, it could happen but..."
  12. It seems like a straight up deal could work in theory, but both of them have somewhat interesting contract situations that I think makes a deal much less likely than just straight up releases.
  13. To be fair, that may have just been a sex dream Bernstein had last night. Before I got to the end of your post I had the same thought.
  14. means better chance both will be for the first televised game tomorrow gambler's fallacy
  15. Really? The defensive base story is the least interesting part of this offseason to me.
  16. I was neutral on Marshall's return. I would have preferred at least a 4 for him, but I can live with this. I think that type of irritant personality can only be tolerated for a finite amount of time. Being around bipolar people sucks. They got their three years without a huge disaster, so I chalk that up as a success and am ready to move on. They will need to go out and get another receiver now, but the Marshall/Jeffery combo was getting redundant and counterproductive. Need variety.
  17. why are people even talking about Hartline?
  18. There's only room for one of Clausen and Marshall.
  19. flood of calls and emails from concerned Jets fans right now. their consensus: Cutler was a strong willed QB that wouldn't take [expletive] from Marshall, Jets have nothing like that and it will be a disaster.
  20. They didn't hire a 79 year old turnaround specialist as head coach so they could suck for a year or two. They are going to try and win next year and the year after that. Unless they stumble upon a better option, Cutler will be the quarterback.
  21. When the menu says flat bread you can be damn certain I'm telling my kid it's pizza.
