Can't agree, Wilson is typically going to be able to cover the ~6 yards with his arm a lot faster than Butler can cover the ~4 yards with his feet. One of the reasons it's a bad play call is that you aren't going to get him the ball with a 5 yard cushion(what pass play from the 1 could?), but that's exactly how it's supposed to look. As your picture clearly shows, he hasn't released the ball yet and the defender is moving forward. Obviously he isn't capable, "typically" or otherwise, of making up the difference, or else, you know, the guy wouldn't have caught it. Even if it is not intercepted, there is a high likelihood of the ball getting popped up into the air upon contact. He's not dealing with excellent receivers. It's not a make or break play. It's a horrible decision to throw there.
