I assumed that was what you were talking about and can only laugh at the notion that people calling for strict qualifications is somehow insane. When did I say it was insane? You said "insanely strict gun laws" and then lumped restrictions on ownership into that group. And nobody is talking about total gun recall except for those working on behalf of gun companies to convince idiots to buy more guns before it becomes illegal and unavailable.

I meant the gun laws that people are calling for, not the ones that are enacted. Well, most gun nuts think any gun law is insane so I'm still not sure what you are talking about.

It's still pretty skeavy for an 18 year old to be having sex with a girl 366 days younger than him. It was always the scumbags that were pulling that one.

I snipped it for effect, not because I thought it was all you care about. It was a very strange and completely inaccurate statement. I think most guys live their swinging singles time with the thought in the back of their head that one word from her could ruin your life. But it's mostly an unfounded fear. and at the same time most girls live their lives with the knowledge that there are a bunch of rapists out there that never get caught or punished. The laws are not tilted in favor of women when it comes to the crime of rape.

And I'll stop after this, as I'm guessing even this will get criticized, but if this case is with a girl he met at the bar, that means all that really needs to be proven is A. she was drinking (and therefore unable to give consent), and B. they had sex. While, again, the overwhelming priority is to ensure the well-being of the victim, I just always found it a little...tough that if they were both drinking (and both unable to give consent) it still falls out the way it does. I think you are misinformed. That's not really "all it takes". I think that is the theoretical message you might want to get across to your son if you are trying to reinforce to the stupid little [expletive] how important it is to not rape, but in the real world it takes a whole hell of a lot more than just proving there was sex and she had a drink.

Yeah, that's not what rape is about. Oh, it's smart? Don't be dense. What's wrong about saying if he raped someone it's stupid? Throwing your life away is stupid. Especially for a guy that has a hell of a lot to lose and pretty much hit the jackpot in life. Hopefully this is a money grab. The alternative being that one of our favorite athletes is a terrible person. The issue was saying he shouldn't have raped because other women are throwing themselves at him all the time. Rape is not about getting all the action you can get. It's about power over that specific human being who has not thrown themselves at you, who has not consented. It's not stupid, it's evil.

I had shin splints in 8th grade and they were gone in a couple days but looking at shin splints in elite level athletes, people who run for a living, it is not abnormal for it to last a couple months. Normal human activities and NFL level route running are not the same thing.

Actual worst case scenario, meaning he raped a woman and will get away with it? Or worse case scenario that he goes to prison for raping a woman. I think they can void the contract if he goes to prison for rape. They probably can't do much more than short suspension if he pleads out to something else.

Yeah, that's not what rape is about. Yeah, I mean, it's not stupidity, it would be evil callous awfulness. We already know he's stupid. He can't pronounce the word "especially" without an X, among many other obvious tells.
