  1. Better than better than average? So really good? I would kill for average out of SS right now. Cedeno may never get there, but he's got a better chance than anybody affiliated with the Chicago Cubs.
  2. spot on
  3. The lineup doesn't matter when only two guys are showing up.
  4. Is that a monkey?
  5. Anybody check out Aramis Ramirez's first 600 PA in the majors?
  6. I don't know Truffle, I still can't tell.
  7. I tried for you buddy, just doesn't seem to be working out.
  8. It was only a 1-run loss, so they'll win more in the second half.
  9. None of that bolded section makes any sense whatsoever.
  10. If I had to? I would be more than happy to trade Marquis and Soriano, as long as the other team takes their contract.
  11. A baserunner. And the Cubs are about to see their 90th pitch of the day.
  12. Pat and Ron talking up walks, Santo earlier talking about the value of taking pitches. My lord, it's catching on.
  13. Soriano saw 5 pitches and Theriot saw 1. They didn't do the exact same thing. But people did go off on Soriano, that's why they were commenting on the top of the order.
  14. That's what happens when your first 2 batters of the game swing at the first pitch they see. I predict lou gives it one more week and by next weekend theriot will be tucked away nicely in the 8 spot. soriano on the other hand will be hitting leadoff until 2014 I think Soriano may be out of the leadoff spot by sometime next year. He's going to be dropped well before his contract ends, and I'm talking about 5 or 6 eventually.
  15. GRRR No. Saturday's game will be the first I get to watch on TV all year...it doesn't even feel like its baseball season yet to me because I haven't got to watch any games. Yeah, and I can't even listen to the games at work because that pisses off other people who are trying to work. A) Who cares about other people. 2) Headphones.
  16. So we are able to add unlisted prospects?
  17. On the bright side, we know he's willing to do whatever it takes to succeed.
  18. wait, what happened?
  19. Thanks for the reminder, I remembered.
  20. I'm not sure even the most rampant homer could class winning the season series 9-6 as owning (or even pwning). Especially when we consider that there were 9 games played at Wrigley compared to 6 at Miller Park... I'm jus' sayin'. A .600 winning percentage is pretty solid.
  21. Almost everything broke their way this year, and now the organization is positioned to capitalize on all the attention. However, it's up to them to actually make that happened. They can't go out and sign another couple second tier (or worse) players and expect to carry over the same level of enthusiasm. Battling for a playoff spot will not be acceptable next year. They are going to have to be right in thick of things, locking up a spot relatively quickly and being a real threat to advance a round or two.
