  1. I'd think Nagy would have a handle on his coaching staff and maybe addressed with them an coordinated and "appropriate" answer to JF questions. Not surprisingly, he doesn't. I hear Jen Psaki will be available in a few weeks. this horsefeathering guy
  2. it's magic dot gif
  3. If they go into 2022 with a $125 million payroll you shouldn't watch any games. If it's $150 million, maybe watch opening day. Anything short of a top 5 payroll from this organization is an embarrassment. If they actually address the needs of the team - get a starting infielder, starting outfielder, a couple real starting pitchers, at least one high leverage reliever, a backup catcher - I’m not going to be particularly concerned whether they spend $80 million or $120 million to do it. None of that will happen with an $80 payroll.
  4. ptr thanks you for your loyalty I think I can be angered at how the team was put together and pleased by their play at the same time. If the Cubs go into 2022 with a $75 Million payroll, I certainly won’t be watching any games. If they go into 2022 with a $125 million payroll you shouldn't watch any games. If it's $150 million, maybe watch opening day. Anything short of a top 5 payroll from this organization is an embarrassment.
  5. Regency bias, Is this when teams that stay at a Hyatt get an extra 1-2 points from Vegas?
  6. what drive was the blatant PI non-call?
  7. Bears have gone from -3.5 to -2.5. -120 to win outright O/U 45 Heavy heavy negative sentiment on this team coming out of Sunday night had me thinking it would be worse.
  8. I think he did okay in comparison to expectations, given who he is and who the opponent was and the environment they were playing. I had little hope for the Bears regardless of the QB. I didn't expect an above average performance in comparison to QBs who got to play non-stud defenses. Dalton was a stupid acquisition and a waste of resources, but he was fine in the role they asked of him (taking one for the team). Foles probably would have done the same thing though.
  9. Again, the decisions don't bother me. But there is no logic to anything. Why Week 4? Are you OK with starting 0-3, but no worse? They've said "we'll know when Fields is ready", does that mean they estimate he needs at least 3 more weeks to be ready? What's that based on? If he's not ready why is he coming on the field in redzone? Why not all redzone, just some plays in the redzone? Oh and why the random short yardage play in the middle of the field? Is he some short yardage plays, some goalline plays? It all just seems random and arbitrary. And I know they don't have to tell us why they do what they do, but it doesn't give me any confidence they actually know what they are doing when what they are doing has no rhyme or reason. And I know teams do this stuff all the time with packages for their young QBs. But they do them with veteran QBs who are actually starting caliber players with experience in the offense. I'm guessing Week 4 is as long they think they can go without a locker room revolt or they just don't want Fields to face the Rams and Browns' defenses. I'm guessing the reporter was just giving a specific date to a thing the Bears themselves have not given an actual date, but mostly your point. I believe they want to get the offensive line settled, know what they have and more importantly do not have while facing the toughest opponents, before giving him the keys. My early guess was week 4-6 timeframe. If they lose again and look bad doing so, it may be sooner. But what they really want is a win on Sunday to calm the masses and allow them to settle in that offensive line and keep prepping Fields with spot duty, before going all in some time in the middle of the season. This year was all about showing progress with the offense at the sacrifice of defensive talent. If they give up 25+ every game they will live with that if the offense starts racking up yards and points, and they know that won't happen with Dalton.
  10. that sounds really dramatic but im guessing its a game of telephone and he just doesn't know what the hell he's talking about. no way mlb is gonna tell them to stop testing. It was an old voicemail referring to steroids
  11. #secretextensions
  12. still pissed this dbad ruined my best tweet
  13. If you're pessimistic then nothing matters. Field's leg will spontaneously combust on the 50 yard line against the Packers and they'll blow a 30-3 lead in the 4th quarter. 30-3 4th quarter lead against the pack seems awfully optimistic
  14. it doesn't need to guarantee anything what the hell does a first round exit with andy dalton guarantee? they're both failed seasons and one gives you a horsefeathering rookie of the year at quarterback going forward. it doesn't need to guarantee anything to be a far better place to be in than the bears ever have been at that position. only sociopaths think a winning season with playoff is failure.
  15. Team wins all day every day. Rookie of the year guarantees nothing in the future.
  16. I mean, no, it would absolutely be a White Sox town for decades to come if they somehow won 10 titles in a row. The only reason the White Sox didn't take over during the Cubs historic run of ineptitude is the White Sox were just as bad at the same time. It didn't happen after 2005 because it was a one and done situation and the Cubs got good again shortly after. It wasn't predetermined though. Had they gone on a run and the Cubs didn't have 2008, the story could have changed.
  17. Every national broadcast Cowboys game frames them as a perennial contender while they only refer to the Bears struggles at QB. The fact that Dallas has had 2 nationally respected guys at QB while the Bears have had none makes a lot of people think the Cowboys have won a hell of a lot more in the same timeframe. When I brought this up a couple years ago people were aghast at the comparison, just assuming Dallas had a lot more success than they did.
  18. Didn’t see the entire year thing, that’s not happening. Only way it does is if Dalton wins 12. Which also is not happening. Anyway, pace and Nagy signed secret extensions and won’t be pressured into starting fields before week 4. Not sure about the secret extensions thing though it wouldn’t surprise me but I also think that at the very least Dalton is going to get 3 games. Nagy isn’t going to swallow his pride and admit he was wrong after 1 or even 2 weeks. I think it will be like Mike Glennon, who had to be a complete embarrassing disaster over 4 games for Fox to pull the plug on him. 1 bad game - “we’re not going to make rash decisions based on one game. 2 bad games - “we saw some things we really liked from Andy today and believe we’re headed in the right direction. 3 bad games - “we’re going to go back and watch some tape and make the best decision for this football team”. Week 4 - Justin Fields starts I really don’t think it’s a swallow your pride thing. There are legit reasons to not start the kid right away. It’s fine. It’s not an egotistical coach making it all about his system. It’s not like Fields is some toy ownership thrusted on an unsuspecting coach who is choosing to sabotage the year to play his guy.
  19. nahSitting him is fine you're wrong. like, not even within the vicinity of not wrong. and i know you think you know everything. sitting justin fields for a whole year is malpractice. Didn’t see the entire year thing, that’s not happening. Only way it does is if Dalton wins 12. Which also is not happening. Anyway, pace and Nagy signed secret extensions and won’t be pressured into starting fields before week 4.
  20. I’m the guy that stated without a doubt the Bears are more or less the Cowboys the past 25 years but don’t get nearly enough credit for it. At least nowhere near the credit the Cowboys get for whatever reason they get a ton more praise. I’ve got to work on my brand recognition if this is the thing people believe about me. *nearly enough credit* just means the Cowboys have gotten too much credit right? Stylistically very different though. The 2 Cowboys QBs in the 21st century would be both in top 3 of Bears QBs all time. substanceBears have done as well as Dallas but for some reason people pretend dallas has been a quality program this whole time and the bears a joke. The Lovie era is grossly undervalued. Who gives a horsefeathers about style points when it’s no better at the end of the day?
  21. nah. this is dumb. the dude is ready. you don't waste a cheap year at the most important position in sports. if he's good, he covers up a lot of bad. and i'm pretty sure he's horsefeathering good. nahSitting him is fine

  23. Pretty fresh stuff talking about history of Bears qbs.
