  1. For the life of me I don’t get qualifying the disappointing expensive defensemen and letting the mildly impressive cheaper forward walk.
  2. I've heard "Os" used regularly. Yeah, I hear that more than the actual team name around here. Sure, "Os", but not "O's".
  3. Pretty sure you can stream it on Peacock, though no idea if they paywalled it. I’d bet a lot they will show it on a major channel later today when they can get more eyeballs on it, that’s just how NBC handles the timezones for these. No interest in trying to stream it and no need to watch it later when I already know the outcome. it’s okay to say you don’t want to be watch it without pissing on a other sport
  4. It’s mind blowing how bad this deal looks. Just total and complete overpay on both ends. A bad team years away from contention and they just ruined any hope of revival by 2025. How do you pay free agency superstar money to a non-free agent and non-superstar at this point in time with a tight cap?
  5. How do you pay $9m to a guy that isn’t even a threat to be mvp caliber in this league when you spent a decade trading away quality players because you already blew your cap space on overpaid defenseman?
  6. Will be interesting to see how they maneuver out of this deal in 5 years
  7. For cbj and for Jones. Massive overpay by the hawks.
  8. reporters saying there was no side deal Thats just a strange choice then. Maybe there is logic behind it for Seattle but Hawks fans have been stressing about the expansion draft for 2 years now and I don't think anyone brought his name up as a potential selection. Some of the guys on their roster have to make under $1 million.
  9. Seems like an odd choice. Makes me wonder if Seattle wanted someone else but worked out a side deal with the Hawks not to take that person. reporters saying there was no side deal
  10. And the reason why anyone knows any of the details is because of... You're right... it is an awesomely juicy gossip story. That's why the divorce updates keep coming. I know David Ross is divorced. But I had to look it up; it was just last year. If it was reported in the media, it probably garnered a couple paragraphs, tops. It's not a reach at all to think Ben's divorce proceedings are "click bait" given some of the information that's come out already. Celebrity divorces have been huge public stories since long before some [expletive] thought of the term clickbait.
  11. Turns out I was WAY too generous. 538 has them with a 4% chance of winning the division. Fangraphs with the 1.4(!!!!!!!)% chance. Keep horsefeathering that chicken, dude.
  12. It says a lot about the jock era that they got a guy with very little chance to even sniff the majors for him and it was arguably a steal in favor of the Cubs.
  13. Clase Azul Reposado. Friends gave it to me for my birthday. I bought one myself when it was gone. We've gone through 4 bottles between our two houses and I'm getting ready to buy another. It's $140 - $150, so not an everyday tequila or something you mix in a margarita. But it's a great sipping tequila. Highly recommend. Oh, that stuff is the horsefeathers. Also recommend.
  14. Or wants someone else (Rizzo?) out Wait, I'm confused. It was my understanding that Rossie was hired because he could communicate with the players and get the most out of them. Willy is a Taurus, he's basically saying it's in his nature to speak his mind and be honest. Let's relax here he's not subtweeting somebody.
  15. The Cubs are obsessed with versatility, and I'd venture a guess they are more than happy to have some middle infielders get outfield time. I can't imagine they have too many SS/3B types to the point that there isn't enough playing time for these guys.
  16. https://twitter.com/friedgehnic/status/1414644136460828676?s=21 It's done.
  17. Yeah, but the Cubs purposely tank so often it forces those other teams to actually go for it and trade those prospects for more expensive veterans.
