  1. The Yankees aren’t even in my top 4 most hated teams in the playoffs Hate has no home here, I just love to see them lose.
  2. Well, it happens rarely enough (if ever) to garner criticism. If this happened all the time after Thursday games, there wouldn't be a stink about it If the coach of a winning team did it and wasn't caught on video messing with a woman that wasn't his wife we wouldn't even know about it. And yet a coach of a losing team did bail on his team after the game to go try and hook up in public, and that's a ridiculous move.
  3. It's a Thursday night game so to me him staying back an extra day or two isn't an issue. It's what he was doing that is the problem. He's the head freaking coach. It's absolutely a problem for him to peace out on the team.
  4. a horsefeathering return man? Is that really what this team was missing?
  5. Montgomery expected to miss 4-5 weeks.
  6. Things are starting to settle down in the 2021 season: The NFC West is stacked, the NFC North is like net -99 points scored on the season. The NFC South might have 3 contenders and the NFC East is ass again. I don't really care about the AFC, but the potential for an Urban Meyer early exit is intriguing, along with Pittsburgh potentially taking a big old dump. There are enough bad teams out there that the Giants can't be too confident in their extra 1st round pick next year, but the Bears are walking a tight rope between taking some baby steps forward and falling off a cliff.
  7. I'd have some concern with Fields taking every snap in a game with no Montgomery. I'm a coward that way. And Dalton with no Montongomery is... a sacrificial lamb
  8. What if the boost was just the entire gameplan though. I'd have some concern with Fields taking every snap in a game with no Montgomery. I'm a coward that way.
  9. I actually don't necessarily agree with this. I mean, Fields has 1 pretty good (not great or perfect) game and 1 disaster game. I don't think yesterday proved he's ready to take over the team full-time. I do think, at the very least, you give Dalton an extra week to heal even if he looks to be close to 100%. Let Fields get the Vegas game to prove yesterday wasn't "just the Lions" and that last week was all on Nagy's terrible gameplan. I love Fields as much as the next person, but I don't think you can say that yesterday completely erases what happened a week ago with a historically bad offensive output. If he's good against the Raiders, then he keeps the job. If he's bad again, then I'd have no problem if they decide to go back to Dalton. Dalton games don't do anything for this franchise, but at least they can be justified with a bad Fields performance next week. I agree I think it is clear that Fields would still play a lot in a game that Dalton started, and I am perfectly fine with him getting introduced this way. It might be a boost in a game without montgomery to come at them a couple different ways this week.
  10. 2019 had it also. Yep, missed that. Still, it's worrisome that the league's talent gap is widening. it’s intentional though
  11. 7 of 16 lines are a touchdown+ spread this week
  12. New conspiracy theory, the timing of this announcement was designed to be after a disastrous loss when most Bears fans have completely given up on the team and stopped caring. There's no backlash to moving out to a generic suburban town if nobody wants to watch them anyway.
  13. The lakefront restrictions are a great thing.
  14. But we also saw a review of a max protect situation where nobody protected anything
  15. Nico Hoerner will finish his 3rd season in the majors with 112 games played and 378 PA. Hell turn 25 early next season, but will he get to 300 and 700 in his career before breaking down completely?
  16. Apparently Nagy had a press conference with answering any questions.
  17. I grew up in Palatine and I agree its strange to think about a SB being hosted there. I'm assuming that a bunch of retail/restaurants/bars would spring up around the park (assuming there's enough space) and it would almost act like its own little stadium village. If you drove through downtown Foxborough you would never expect a giant football stadium to be located in the town...its a quaint little New England town. I imagine it to be a little like that. The game would be played there, the hosting of SB related festivities would be in Chicago.
  18. I seriously doubt Pace has the authority (should probably say, "is in a position") to fire Nagy at this point. His "known" contract is up after this season. Some believe he signed some sort of secret extension in the offseason to avoid public criticism of rewarding failure, and to put him on the same timeline as Nagy whose contract ends after 2022. Unless both of them signed secret extensions beyond 2022, or somehow Pace got a longer one while Nagy did not, he's not really in a position to salvage his job by firing Nagy and hoping some interim guy wins a title. I think they are more likely to fire them both, and have one of their rising guys take the role on an interim basis while a coordinator acts as head coach. If the pattern holds the next guy will be a defensive minded head coach who can bring in offensive coaches to salvage Fields.
  19. To be fair, our only data point for Dalton not facing the Rams is the ~1 half he got against the Bengals when he had a 118 QB rating, so we haven't quite disproven that yet. But I'm almost certain we will as soon as he gets back to starting. I see your 118 QB rating and raise you, 7 points scored. I fold?
  20. You picked a hell of a week to stop sniffing glue
  21. Yeah, complaining about the run game is akin to complaining about the defense today. They barely had the ball on offense, were behind all day, and were in long down and distances all game with being sacked every series. …at least part of that was because they never bothered to try to establish the run. oh come on. Establishing the run wasn’t the issue. They couldn’t establish a forward moving play. They were thoroughly dominated.
  22. Well that was ugly
