  1. I disagree with your interpretation of his line of sight there. The play is designed to float it over to the guy, nobody throws lasers on a screen pass. It was a bad play call in deep. You run that at midfield, not the red zone. The Bears needed to get points there and try not to let Hanie screw up. Martz got cute and screwed the pooch.
  2. Yes, but he had nothing on Tebow. And he was a jew
  3. All idiots, media and others, who claimed bears wouldn't miss a beat should be shot. He carried this team
  4. First impressions Oakland is terrible Hanie is worse than I thought The raiders are terrible Marts is too risky Caleb is dumb Oakland sucks
  5. If you wait for perfection you will never sign anybody. Passing because they aren't perfect is foolish.
  6. Now, I can see Jerry Jones throwing away 2.5 million in this instance, but I would have been floored if Green Bay threw that money away. I know they're an NFL franchise, but 2.5 million dollars a lot of cheddar (pun intended). As a Purdue fan, Kyle probably ended up in the best spot long term. He can compete with Matt Cassel, I think, and there are some weapons in KC. It's definitely the easiest competition, and aside from the weapons, there also aren't many expectations. If he displays any competency he could be rewarded. But I wonder how Denver feels now that he's in KC.

  8. It's happened like, three times, in baseball. I can't think of any notable instances of an NFL team placing a claim on a player they have absolutely no use for to prevent them from going to another team. There are salary cap implications, and it's Kyle Freaking Orton.
  9. Play for Lovie and Martz or play for Haley. You choose. I'm guessing he thinks he can benefit from being in the Martz system. Chicago looks like a potential playoff team and he could be the hero that brings them there, and if Cutler doesn't make it back, maybe he actually plays in those playoffs. KC is pathetic with a douchebag for a head coach and Houston has Leinert instead of Hanie. Orton probably feels he's got a better chance to play in Chicago and has more of a chance to impress if he does play there.
  10. http://deadspin.com/5862318/new-abuse-allegation-against-jerry-sandusky-came-from-a-family-member-his-lawyer-says More disquieting news from the Patriot-News, which is withholding the details of the child's familial relationship to Sandusky: "The attorney for Jerry Sandusky says one of the two new cases of alleged sexual abuse under investigation by Children and Youth Services was made by a family member
  11. This new CBA is so much more gayfriendly than the previous one.
  12. What is there to say about Geo? You summed it up. When he's good he's been pretty darn good, but he's inconsistent and for the that reason you can't really rely on his production to pick up the slack from others.
  13. It's not Raiders love as much as Hanie uncertainty. Nobody wants to put money on an unknown QB on the road against a division leader.
  14. bears are now 5 point underdogs
  15. I'm not sure if there is something to curtail it, but I'm not sure what it could be other than not allowing teams to sign guys who are already in their system, which seems crazy. So does the IFA cap with the ability to trade parts of your cap to other teams. I think being able to trade part of your cap makes more sense than having one, and a lot more sense than not allowing you to resign your own players.

  17. Maybe this was discussed earlier, but with regards to Samardzija, he signed a small contract when signed, and didn't sign his "stay away from football" contract until a year later. Once a guy is already in the system there shouldn't be much from a team paying him more to give up a 2nd sport. I also don't think I really buy all the talk about guys giving up baseball in general. The vast majority of players are still going to get the same or similar money to what they used to get. Anybody who could possibily make big money in basketball is already going toward basketball. Baseball still has the largest pool of available positions to fill, potentially the longest career arc of any sport and definitely as high of an upside as any sport in terms of annual earnings. This will hurt in places like Brazil, where they were still on the ground floor, but again, people aren't necessarily looking for Lebrons out there, just a large pool of cheap talent.
  18. wtf is this supposed to even mean It means when he releases the ball, it has plenty on it. WTF do you think it's supposed to mean, psycho? It absolutely does not have plenty on it. He's fine throwing quick slants, but that is about it.
  19. He can't throw the way you need to be able to make this offense work. Orton spreads the ball around to multiple receivers in short patterns. He's not going to hit on the 18 yard ins, and he sucks on the deep ball.
  20. Not only does he lack experience in the system, but it doesn't cater to him either. He doesn't have much of an arm and is immobile. He would do nothing but throw 5 yard slants and dump offs. To be fair, Kurt Warner was almost completely immobile and ran the Martz offense to perfection. And obviously, Martz doesn't mind immobility as he hand-picked Nathan Enderle to draft, and he can't run a lick. Right, but Warner could throw. Orton can't throw, and he's immobile. It's not that Martz demands mobility, but surviving with this line requires mobility, and thriving under Martz requires an arm.
  21. Is the ESPN game play airing the game more people want to see? Because it's a no-brainer. Really, more people would rather see Crosby's first game against a bad team than a solid game between the defending SC Champion and a possible contender. I dislike more people It's the biggest star in the league coming back for the first time from a high publicized injury. It makes perfect sense to air that game and it's pointless to cry about it.

  23. Not sure if that is true or not, but it would indicate the agents insisted on some compromise.
