  1. Did anyone catch that caveman comment awhile back...
  2. This just screams... SMALL SAMPLE SIZE
  3. Adam Everett please! Also, Edmonds isn't that good in the field anymore.
  4. What part of don't walk or hit the leadoff hitter does Kerry not understand?
  5. I know DLee could use a day off, and I'm excited to see Hoffpauir get a chance, but I would really like to bat as many RH hitters in the lineup when playing at Enrun field (I still refer to it as that.)
  6. My broner for Marmol cannot be denied at the moment.
  7. Jason Bay with the Grand Slam Jason Bay with a 3-run shot, not Grand Slam.
  8. Sheets is getting owned this inning 3 HR 6 R total. I love it!
  9. Thanks Bruce. How do you feel about this Edmonds move? It's a low-risk move. Worth a try although I said in my blog I'd take a pass if it were me. They're going to assign Dave Keller full time to Pie in Iowa. Let's just see what happens. Thanks. What's Keller going to focus on with Pie? I'll take a stab at this one: Hitting. Yeah....that's it! Seriously, I'd love to know what aspects they are going to work on. They want him to continue working on his weight shifting, moving forward instead of planting the front foot. They also want him to adjust better on breaking pitches. I'm not sure how they'll work on the second part, but we'll see. I would let Rich Hill throw a bunch of curve balls to him... Since they're both in AAA, grr.
  10. I love that Manny is Manny. He gets to play a game as a career, and he has fun with it. Not to mention the fact that he's really good at baseball.
  11. explain I'm not saying that having these players makes someone a bad manager that looks good, especially in your case where you knew what you were doing. However, Youk is like a top 25 player in all of fantasy right now, and no one saw that coming. I'm more talking about guys that clueless managers selected late to fill void that are vastly outperforming their expections. Mainly, I'm just bitter, because the guy winning my league right now has been largely inactive, and had his team auto-picked in the draft. As of yesterday, he had 3 guys starting that are on the D.L. and Carl Crawford on the bench. Konerko and Tejada are just dominating for him right now... and it's irritating.
  12. There seem to be quite a few players playing over their heads right now. I would just like to start a list of players who are making some fantasy baseball managers look a lot better than they are. Now I will give credit where credit is due, such as a shrewd manager picking up Volquez or drafting Hamilton late (like myself). However, there also some players just playing out of their minds that managers knew little about, yet stumbled upon, and are riding them to success. These are guys that were likely drafted, and have decent names, but are exceeding all probable expectations. I'll start the list. 1) Cliff Lee 2) Aaron Cook 3) Kevin Youkilis
  13. I read an article somewhere at the beggining of the season talking about the Indians rotation, and how it was solid, but that Cliff Lee was a questionmark. They were speculating how long it would be until Adam Miller was called up to replace him. ...yeah, they got that wrong.
  14. As long as their not in the field it works fine. My grandpa comes in to watch most games. If not, he'll just listen to WGN. As long as your not in the field, it is entirely possible to schedule your work day around the Cubs. You are your own boss afterall. However, it may mean working until dark after the game.
  15. I just made a stupid trade offer to one of my friends. I give Konerko and Brandon Lyon, I get Carl Crawford. I fully expected it to be rejected, as I offered it half-jokingly. Well, he accepted it, and I'm filled with joy. However, I'm sure the league will ultimately veto it. In his defense, his outfield is stacked and he needed saves like Barbara Walters needs Republican Senators from Massachusetts. Edit: As I was typing this, the trade received enough votes to veto it. :(
  16. Wow, sounds like a guy who obviously doesn't understand that small sample sizes don't mean a whole lot. I'll at least give the guy credit for selling high.
  17. Have him in one of my leagues, luckily I have an open DL spot. I was somehow able to pick up Yunel Escoder to fill the void. In the league I'm serious about with a group of friends, I'm happy I traded Tulo. In fact, I trade Tulo and Santanna for Hanley and C.C. Great move in hindsight. As for what to do with Tulo, keep him in a DL spot unless you need it for someone else. If forced to drop him, make sure you don't forget about him so you can add him before he comes back.
  18. This would be a good time for Hart to not help my fantasy team... Sorrry, I had to do it. edit: Well that worked.
  19. Braun will eventually pick it up, but Webb is solid. With Smoltz heading to relief when he's back, it looks like you need some SP help. Since you have Longoria, I'd probably do it. Pointless sidenote: My sisters boyfriend's dad in Webb's agent, and he used to represent Owings until he switched to Boras over the winter.
  20. I also live in Cedar Falls, but I unfortunately have Mediacom. The game was blacked out on it too, so I went to the gym where they have CFU, hoping they would be carrying the game, but no. I ended up listening to Pat and Ron while following the game on Gameday.
  21. I'm really surprised this isn't getting more attention on here. This whole thing has really taken up the entire sports blogosphere this morning, and I must say it is very entertaining.
