I've liked everything I've heard about Bulaga, but hadn't heard much about his thyroid condition. If he can close out the year well and have a good combine (if he leaves early), it wouldn't surprise me if they overlooked a poor start to the year. Coming into the season it was pretty much assumed that Bulaga would leave after this year. However, the thyroid condition, and how he has played recently has put that into question. He has been our at best our third best lineman performance wise this season (behind Calloway and Richardson, and possibly Reiff). Much of that can be attributed to health problems and missed practice time/lack of cohesiveness on the line. Also, he has faced two good DE's in Graham and Schofield, but a top ten pick should be able to make a better showing against those two than Bulaga did. I still think there is a good chance he leaves early, especially with a strong finish, but there seems to be a possibility that he will return next year, now.
