  1. I can see an argument both ways. I don't fully believe that "team chemistry" (or lack there of) can hurt a team, but it can help. Also, with the fist fights that the A's used to have... they also played their butts off. The tigers have a "Who cares" attitude right now.
  2. Am I the only one sick of this guy's impersonations?
  3. It may take someone that doesn't know the history...doesn't know he's supposed to suck and be buffoonish, and crumble at clutch time, to turn this ship around. agreed
  4. only 35? hell- why not 54? or 70? 27 in Petco last year. Go from playing in Petco, Dodger Stadium, Pac Bell, etc. to Wrigley, MMP, GABP, Miller. All great parks for RH pull hitters. He already OPS' .150 higher on the road, almost all in SLG. 25-30 is very realistic, and 35 is high end. Nothing unrealistic there. 15, 15, 15, 27. which one of these doesn't belong? but maybe he figured out how to be a good hitter last year and changed his swing somehow. indications this year thus far don't really support that notion. and by the way, he had 12 at petco last year as opposed to 15 on the road. his HR power wasn't really terribly thwarted. Oh! Oh! Let me play!!! 36, 40, 36, 66
  5. who wants a banger in their mouth?
  6. I was listening to the pre-game show on the radio before the cardinals/reds game that I went to last night, and they had Walt Jockety on. He was talking about how they have like 14 free agents at the end of the year and how that could really hurt them. He then went on to say that he'll probably have to make a few deals in order to at least get something back for some of the FA's, but didn't really go into any details about who he would deal.
  7. If you're going to ask a question, at least give me time to answer...
  8. I was hoping nobody had posted this topic yet because that was my plan... Wrigley sold for $23B!
  9. Any player who doesn't think about the world series is lying. Also, I bet that if Manny Ramirez or Derek Jeter said that same comment, nobody (the media) would care. I don't see why it's a big deal. The world series should be EVERY teams goal, regardless if it's actually obtainable. So ergo, everyone should be thinking about it.
  10. It would have given us too many lefty's in the starting rotation. I'd say no.
  11. meh... 1-6 with (at least) 3 swinging bunts. I was unable to watch the full game, but I did see him accomplish the feat 3 times.
  12. Imagine what he woulda done without the beard...
  13. I'm still ticked that Corey didn't win a gold glove in 2004.
  14. I've said it before and I'll say it again... I feel like the Cubs offense should win the Cy Young award sometimes...
  15. http://www.sportspickle.com/features/volume7/2008-0402-race.html A great article that seems somewhat relevant here! At least, I thought it was funny.
  16. Unfortunately, Vlad is right handed AND his position is already taken. That wouldn't do us any good...
  17. for the win.
  18. I just want to know what activity you have to do to cause such an injury, so that I can stay a mile and a half away from it!
  19. which host are you moving to? since we still haven't purchased any hosting, I'm still doing research... so I'd like to know what the nsbb will be running on. Especially since it's so db intensive.
  20. I'm a big Dempster fan. he's not the greatest pitcher on the team, but he works hard and has fun while doing it. He and Millar were teamates in Florida for quite a while and are doing a lot to stir up publicity. I love it!
