  1. I just hope all the fans/media are patient with him. I could see him striking out in his first AB and some idiots booing him or being off to a cold start and calling him a failure.
  2. Latest from Roto Nick Cafardo of the Boston Globe reports that "about six teams" have been on the phone "consistently" with Cubs president Theo Epstein discussing a potential Matt Garza trade. Cafardo writes that the Braves, Tigers, Cardinals, Red Sox, Jays, and Royals have had interest, "as far as we can tell." The Cubs have interest in signing Garza to a long-term extension, but Epstein and general manager Jed Hoyer will gauge the trade market for the right-hander. It will take a big package of prospects to get him
  3. Doubt Soriano would approve a trade to the Pirates with his no trade clause. Seems he would only waive it if he goes to a team like the Yankees or someone with a good chance to get to the World Series.
  4. Because Rizzo is going to hit 1.000 with a guy on third with less than 2 outs? I meant to separate the statements. It'll be exciting just to see how he does in the lineup and we can probably have a little more hope in those types of situations with him in there. Regardless how bad the team is, it's going to be fun to watch him.
  5. Anther fail of getting a guy in from 3rd with less than 2 outs...Jesus...Can't wait for Rizzo!
  6. I was feeling good about a sweep until I seen Wells is pitching..Oh well, 2 out of 3 will work.
  7. Guys, you have no idea how exciting it is out here to beat these guys asses..They're speechless.. Everyone is so pissed off..It's great! I'm in the heart of the southside, so it's utter silence right now...Why can't we put up runs like this every game?
  8. Germany vs Spain would be an epic clash of the titans for sure. You know one team is going to come out of nowhere though like Greece in '04 and make something happen. Some interesting stuff today to in Group B, I'm hoping Germany and the Dutch advance...I can't wait until tomorrow for my boys from Croatia to take on Spain. I don't have a good feeling about it because Spain is so good, but I'm just hoping for the Irish to somehow tie the Italians so Spain and Croatia go through regardless. There's a lot of scenarios though of who goes through and is the odd team out. Should get real interesting.
  9. Ya the grass looks like a plane dropped [expletive] napalm on Wrigley. Looks horrible.
  10. Wow, can't believe Russia lost. Everyone had them as a lock win. Awesome tournament so far.
  11. Roto just a little updating a bit saying four contenders are after Dempster and talking prospects in exchange Gordon Wittenmyer of the Chicago Sun-Times writes that Ryan Dempster "is coveted by several would-be contenders, including the Los Angeles Dodgers and New York Yankees." Danny Knobler of CBSSports.com reported earlier this week that the Dodgers were after the right-hander. Wittenmyer also notes that Dempster has "talked with management more than once about the prospects of being traded and waiving his no-trade rights." The veteran right-hander seems likely to waive the clause, and it would be a surprise at this point if he's not moved before the deadline.
  12. So Jarmillo was the entire problem with this offense after all
  13. Bruce Miles ‏@BruceMiles2112 Theo-Demp simply discussing Stanley Cup Finals in Wrigley stands. #Cubs
  14. Theo <3
  15. Probably the same process as the Concepcion signing..Weren't terms agreed upon, but they didn't officially announce it until about 2 weeks later?
  16. Weeding out the old regime one at a time!
  17. Didn't they say if he were in the amateur he would have been a top 10 pick? Possibly ahead of Almora? Either way.. http://www1.picturepush.com/photo/a/3684364/480/picturebox2/borat-very-nice.jpg?v0
  18. Time to pop open some beers. Good job Hoystein! [expletive] you Yankees!
  19. Joel Sherman of the New York Post reports that the Cubs have "won out" Cuban outfielder Jorge Soler. !!!!! ROTO
  20. It's down to Cubs and Yankees with Blue Jays as the dark horse. Looks like the Dodgers are out. Get this done Cubs so I can be somewhat productive at work!
  21. Blue Jays kinda scare me since they barley lost on Darvish so they'd be throwing all that cash towards Soler.
