  1. With zero hesitation: yes
  2. I think people (myself included) are going to have to deal with the pain of recalibrating what this season is gonna be like. We had hoped for a CJ Stroud-esque performance and a team that improved its roster and could be not just a playoff contender but a team that could make noise in the playoffs. This season is sadly not that, at least not yet. The coaching has been sloppy. The performance on offense for all involved has been sloppy. Williams has taken longer to emerge than hoped. (Though I would say, has improved in every single week so far). We may yet contend for a playoff spot, but it’ll take much more improvement. Eberflus has not gotten any better in what he has control over (challenges, time management, etc etc), The running game doesn’t exist. The OLine is, while better today, a mess. So the season isn’t over, but we may have to readjust expectations and see this more as a development and preparation year where we’re hopefully still In The Hunt late as opposed to being a division contender all year long.
  3. Bad day for the 2024 Bears, good day overall for the Bears franchise and Caleb Williams
  4. It was over the second they forced the fumble
  5. That was anticlimactic oh well. Woulda been cool to have Williams get a drive but it is what it is
  6. You can see the palpable relief for Williams there. can we possibly get a stop and a drive??
  7. This is what happens when you adamantly refuse to score for 3 quarters. Not mad at the D at all
  8. I literally do not care if something is “in double coverage” if it hits the receiver in the hands
  9. Poor Williams, that wasn’t on him really
  10. lol a Hail Mary that’s COMPLETE but just outside of the end zone is emblematic of this season so far
  11. please god just let the Bears have a non-janky, normal looking offensive effort for once. Don't have it look so bad and weird
  12. The response to the Texans game shouldn't have surprised me but it was funny: Everyone admitted the Texans were a better team and expected the Bears to lose. Then the Bears came out and lost a close game (and covered the spread!) and everyone lost their minds. Now of course, the Bears looked worse on offense than everyone had hoped, but still, at the end of the day, it played out how everyone expected it to play out.
  13. I'm also mildly surprised the Bears are dogs in this game but also they've looked absolutely dreadful on offense, and on the road, so it does make sense. This should be a get healthy game, so we'll find out a lot about where this team is going after this. Their defense shouldn't scare us too much and the team should be able to move the ball a little bit. If they can't you can start to get worried, but only start. Even if they lay a total egg it'll be the 3rd game of a season with your rookie QB. But it'll still sting, and may say a lot about how well prepared this team is. They need to clean up a lot of unforced errors. Pre-snap penalties, mixed up assignments, etc. There's no excuse for it to look that bad.
  14. I've re-watched all of Caleb's drop backs and a couple thoughts I have on reflection: The OLine, while very bad, was not as bad as I thought and Caleb was responsible for several of the sacks. The 4th and 1 play was particularly egregious - that was one where he hit the top of his drop, clearly needed to release the ball or scramble, and instead pivots and eats a huge sack for no reason. The protection needs to be better and in particular the running game needs to be better. But it's not all bad protection.
  15. Bryce Young makes me feel extremely good about the Bears organization
  16. I probably feel the least bad of any Bears fan after this game last night. I obviously don’t feel good but c’mon folks take a step back and look at this in the context of the whole season: they lost 19-13 to a very good team, on the road, the second game of the year, with a rookie QB. They have a pretty soft run going forward in the schedule. Our defense, IMO, looks better than expected so far. The things that are concerning are primarily the run game and the OLine. (Which are worse than expected). Williams’s struggles are not unexpected nor do they entirely scare me. He’s going to hit on medium and deep balls going forward. His decision making so far is, on the whole, pretty good. Even if it wasn’t, I wouldn’t be in panic mode. Things could be a whole lot easier for him with better protection and some healthy receivers, but I expect that to improve (at least somewhat!) moving ahead. im zen and patient about the whole thing
  17. I’ll say my biggest surprise of this year is that the OLine really didn’t make any strides forward
  18. This game isn’t even over yet lol. I mean, the Texans are probably 95% to win, but it’s a two score game with 11 minutes left. If the final score ends up 19-10 I’ll be disappointed but it would only be slightly on the low side of my expectations?
  19. I’m very ok with Caleb making these kinds of mistakes today was a step forward for Caleb, not gonna lie at all
  20. Is it possible for this guy to MISS just ONE 50+ yard field goal? JUST ONE?
  21. That’ll just about be game thays the kind of throw (spinning out of a sure sack for a 26 yard gain) that every Packer QB has hardwired into their programming
  22. Great 3rd quarter by this Bears D DO SOMETHJNG ON OFFENSE
  23. horsefeathers. That was almost the coolest interception in the world
