    Tyrique Stevenson got an ankle injury in practice and is now doubtful for the game. That may explain the lowering of the line in Vegas. Would hate to see Lawrence feast on our weakened secondary.

    I'd feel a lot more comfortable about this game if it wasn't in London and right before a Bye. I feel like there's just gonna be a lot of stupid variance introduced by being across the ocean and I do think there's something psychological about looking forward to the week off. I'm thankful the Bears didn't allow the Panthers to hang around and just dumpstered them immediately after they had that breakdown defensively. Here's hoping they do the same thing this week, and it'll be a good test for the Bears D to deal with a good rushing attack and a (sometimes) talented QB.

    While I think they are all very strong teams, I don't think any of GB, MIN or DET are worldbeaters and I think a .500 division record shouldn't be insane to accomplish. I'm actually far less worried about the specific opponents than I am about them maintaining competent offensive production over the course of the season. It's less what the opponent is doing and more if the Bears O can remain 'looks like a reasonably professional offense' status. If they can maintain the effectiveness of the last two games, I think they win 10ish games easily. If they revert to the first 3 games, they're in trouble. The quality of the opponent is almost beside the point.

    God I would hate a dome for the Bears. I don't mind the idea of a retractable roof though. It would mean no more snow games, but those are a novelty. Those outdoor games when the weather is beautiful are amazing. (And, in a good-and-also-bad way, I think Chicago will have a lot more warm weather days into the future during the football season than not given where climate change is going).

    Sadly I’m not sure a newer, bigger stadium will alleviate that at all.

    You know, after going to the game on Sunday, I came away with a much greater appreciation for the Soldier Field experience. It's a really good stadium for watching football. They really horsefeathered up in 2002 making it so small (how the hell did they not build a stadium at least 20,000 seats bigger) plus, probably the biggest thing is making access to the stadium easier. It's so goddamn hard to get to the stupid field. They need to build a CTA extension or something there. It's unacceptable. I don't feel any urgency over getting a new field, I guess they do because they want $$$, but why is that my problem.

    Sad to not have him but definitely makes sense and gives him 2 weeks to heal up before we play next. Wouldn't want him traveling and playing in a totally different time zone while dealing with a concussion anyway. Brisker provides the same kind of dilemma Mike Brown where he's a truly amazing talent but who's style of play lends itself to hurting himself. I hope he's a dude who can stay healthy and play at a high level for a long time, but I don't expect it.

    Packers QBs own us while they are in Green Bay but they become a complete disaster sideshow the second they leave and we get a tiny bit of schadenfreude. So I'm enjoying the Rodgers show in NJ.

    I think its reasonable to keep tabs on Taylor. It was unusual enough to spend a 4th rounder on a punter that it made national news and it would mean a misuse of resources if he wasn't any damn good. You can get a contributor of a position player in the 4th round. Given how much trouble we've had on the offensive line, it could have meant a replacement level offensive lineman there, something we could have used this year. I was skeptical but open to the pick in the first place. It wont be a huge tragedy if he's just a regular ass punter, but it would be a slight waste of resources.

    Dang that really sucks. He's been magnificent this year. I know the NFL ain't gonna stop with these international games but boy howdy do I hate them and almost always the quality of play is garbage because the players are all out of whack in a foreign place.

    I’m more annoyed than ever by the London game and how it’s taken a home game away from us. The next 4 games are Jacksonville, Washington, Arizona and New England. I think we should go 3-1 during that stretch. Or at least, we should if we want to weather the back half of the season and be In The Hunt the final week of the season for playoffs.

    The Bryce Young thing should have people in the NFL and fans really taking a long look at themselves for falling for hype over a guy who clearly, physically, cannot play NFL football. It's easy to blame the Panthers for the disastrous trade and pick, but at the time it wasn't seen as that ludicrous to trade up for him, which itself should cause some real introspection by draft analysts. There are plenty of busts in the NFL, and QB is almost certainly the hardest position to evaluate and project, but people who really should have known better should have been honest with themselves publicly. Dude can't play. He probably should have been a day 2 pick. What the hell?

    It’s funny how bad the Bears are in the first series of the game, which are the scripted plays from the OC. It was like the thing Getsy truly excelled at, and the ‘23 Bears were tremendous at marching down the field to score to start a game off (usually followed by turning into a pumpkin for the rest of the game). Can we somehow just rent Getsy for the first 15 plays every game? Also, I suspect, and want, to see Davis permanently benched from here on out. Pryor has been more than adequate filling in, and the team is clearly better with this personnel and a gap blocking scheme. I’m not mad at Waldron for instituting his scheme and realizing it wasn’t work, kudos to him for adapting and rolling with what works
