  1. Absolutely feel no need to see Jayden Daniels this weekend. I'll take every advantage we can get and if its the Mariota Commanders, all the better. Bears'll have plenty of chance to prove how real they are throughout the rest of the season. Given how tough the division is, stacking wins ain't bad at all. Little nervous about the Brisker news. Given he's had 3 full weeks off football activity, I was pretty optimistic he'd be back in action. Concerned that this could be something more serious.
  2. Every win in the NFL is a 'quality' win, IMO
  3. Even with Jayden Daniels being questionable, the Bears being -3 on the road against a 5-2 team weirds me out. This is a huge game in so many dimensions: big test for the team's quality in general, a big test for Caleb and the biggest most important test for Eberflus. Can he coach a meaningful game and not muss it up? Is he someone we really want to trust in the longterm? Will be very interesting to see. And, of course, if Daniels doesn't play, it'll be nice to stack wins. But I have a bad feeling about this game for some reason. I may throw some money at the Commanders to cover just to hedge my emotional jitteriness.
  4. I woulda thought the Jets would have been more cautious about acquiring a washed, curmudgeonly former Packers QB after the last time they did it, and yet here we are. It wasn’t even that long ago!
  5. I’m sure the polite thing to say would be “oh no it would be such a shame if we don’t get the ROTY Bowl” but I don’t care and have no shame. I want to stack wins, so if he’s out or weakened for our next game, 🤷‍♂️
  6. The weaknesses of the Vikings are, thankfully, starting to show themselves a little bit. Of course they’re the team that built themselves the biggest cushion, so that’s not great for us. im so pissed CJ Stroud decided to be horrible today. If we faced them literally 2 weeks later we would have beat them. Ah well, so it goes with a developing QB.
  7. God I hate all these teams and they all look so good. Damn them, damn them to hell
  8. I’m sorry why does CJ Stroud suddenly have to look like the worst QB in the league against the Packers. this is Cardinals level magic pixie dust stuff
  9. Also, JordINT Love
  10. This is honestly why I think Dan Campbell is gonna flame out sooner rather than later. He takes too many unnecessary risks, and I think his kind of extremely hyper emotional type of coaching eventually wears out its welcome. People either tune you out or get exhausted by it. This is my own “vibes” based reading but the second things go bad, his type of coaching sometimes backfires
  11. If Teven can go the rest of the season without any other injury concerns, I'd probably offer him a 3/40 type deal. You're gonna overpay in FA no matter what, and he's an in house guy, you keep one of the players together for chemistry and team morale. I'm more concerned about his health than his play really. I'll also continuously draft linemen at the rate that Poles seems to like drafting DBs. Just keep the barn stocked with linemen. We're in a strange spot where we aren't desperate for skill position players, though I imagine we'll be needing a replacement for Keenan after this season. Get a stud Center in the draft, if you can. Keep looking into Guards and Tackles. You can probably upgrade from Braxton. You're always gonna want guys.
  12. Holy horsefeathers Illinois! I don't think the program's looked this good since I was in school and they went to the Rose Bowl with Juice Williams and Rashard Mendenhall.
  13. I can probably fess up to being caught up in 'vibes' as a fan and not being super systematic. I pretty much tuned out the Bears after 2018 and the end of the Trubisky and Nagy era and was fired up again when they got Fields. I can completely admit to trying to see everything positive about Fields for as long as I could, and part of that I think is that the type of stuff I was watching/reading/listening to, is seemingly designed to try to drive that. I am much more skeptical of the Tim Jenkins/Chase Daniel/QB School whatever type channels than I used to be because I think their whole business plan is to be super positive no matter how poorly a player plays because it drives engagement and loyalty. Fans want to see their QB prospects do well and will find the channels/voices/info that point in that direction. These guys invariably just find the positives in the prospect's play, they go on radio shows, get shared around, etc. Nobody really wants to watch 16 episodes every week thats pointing out the deficiency in a prospects play, they gravitate to the ones who are gonna give you hope. Anyway, I strive to hold an objective eye but I am a fan. I'm biased, and immature, and reactive. Hopefully Caleb Williams will neuter some of those tendencies. The team is a lot more fun now in any case.
  14. I’ll always hold some affection for Jay. The fact he was an A-hole always kinda added to my affection for him. Too bad to see him like this.
  15. My heart does go out to the dude. He's always had a good attitude and has been honest. He's just unfortunately....not that good.
  16. I doubt you cut Davis before the end of the season because you'll need the depth no matter what. People get hurt, linemen especially get hurt. You could hold out some hope that maybe being benched fires him up a little bit, but I somehow doubt that. But one way or the other, I don't think a guy off the street will be better as a depth piece than him. (Unless he reacts so poorly to the benching that he refuses to play). What's the draft looking like regarding Center? I expect (and hope) they are finally looking to find a good center to draft and anchor the line. That's been a huge missing piece. Find your Olin Kreutz you can keep there for the next 10-12 years.
  17. I suspect the 2025 Bears will be in the position of basically being able to draft BPA, with some exceptions (Corner is probably not as needed, you should never draft a RB or LB in the first round, don't need a QB, but everything else would work).
  18. On that note Kyle, I do have to say two things not talked about enough about this past game: 1. how good the screen game has gotten and how Waldron has already iterated on the screen game with that double fake that turned into the first Kmet TD. I'm so used to Bears being absolutely horrible at running screens and boy howdy the last two weeks they've been excellent at executing them. And 2. the ISO run game has really come along way. The right side of the line was mashing all day against the Jags. I think the shake up of the line has really paid off. Protection is a little sketchy but they are moving folks off the ball.
  19. I don't know what the Browns are thinking they can do, but they should give up their petty hopes for however long this whole 'DeShaun Watson' thing continues and trade to us
  20. Are Myles Garrett and Maxx Crosby available? Those are two guys I'd be interested in.
  21. well this sucks, can’t they start him 2 more times to really see what they have in him??
  22. I was extremely skeptical of Jayden Daniels and will remain a Skeptic until we play them in two weeks. I just wasn’t convinced his game would translate to the NFL or that his body type would survive in the NFL but I do have to admit he’s been super effective to this point. of course there’s no rule that says Daniels and Williams cant both be very good, but I am a hater at heart.
  23. I think whatever they're doing right now with Caleb is right, and they should continue doing it until it stops working, lol. (and a lot of what they're doing is hurry up and letting Caleb change things on the fly) Actually the one thing I will change is to stop scripting the first 15 plays because apparently Waldron wasn't doing it and Bears players were pissed, and then he started scripting plays and every opening drive is dogshit. So whatever plays he's scripting sucks mega ass and just let them pick it out of a hat or something.
  24. I know the ESTABLISH THE RUN GAME is a Bears homer meme that’s usually very stupid but in Caleb’s case at this point in his rookie campaign… I think the balance is really good. I’d have a problem if they continued trying to ram the ball into stacked lines and getting nothing out of it but they’ve been successful the last 3 weeks, it’s been a great mix, and it helps Caleb on play action and into more manageable 3rd downs. I don’t really *want* to see Caleb throw 50+ times right now.
  25. No matter how good the rest of the division is, it would be cool if this is the year the Bears figure out how to beat the Packers. What have they won, the last 10 meetings in a row or something?
