  1. I’m definitely having the most fun with this season since 2016. Sucks to have so much injury trouble with our starters but this offense is fuuuuun
  2. Personally, I am enjoying Carson Kelly: Greatest Player in MLB History
  3. Don’t hate it, but almost would have preferred a trade down (if one was possible). This does say a lot about Ben Johnson’s priorities and what he wants from the offense. I’m sure Johnson will love having him. still want some OL and DL though obviously
  4. this is the most fun collection of hitters we've had since 2016
  5. this is easily the most fun a Cubs team has been since 2016
  6. are.... are the Cubs good? strange feeling, haven't felt this in ~8-9 years
  7. Can we please extend Tucker, what the horsefeathers man
  8. Boers and Bernstein really got me through some really boring and miserable jobs in the early 2000's to the mid-2010's, so I hand it to 'em. They could never find a good pairing for Bernstein after Boers retired, and sadly, the rest of the figures of the Score aren't really all that compelling. I think Laurence was O.K. paired up with him, but clearly the two of them didn't get along all that well because Laurence left the second he could to join with Spiegel. Marshall Harris is alright but he just doesn't have all that much character. Anyway, to quote another elderly man who's also addicted to social media: "I'll keep drinking that garbage."
  9. I'm definitely happy for Fields. He gets another chance to prove himself and start - more than most QBs get in the NFL. He was decent with the Steelers, definitely not "as good" as his numbers may have shown, but certainly took a step forward from where he was with the Bears. But, he was also clearly a limited QB - limited enough that one of the best coaches in the league benched him when he was running a 4-2 record. I wish him the best and I hope he fully figures it out.
  10. Second offseason in a row I’m very happy with how Poles is approaching the offseason. Last year didn’t work out but let’s hope eventually the moves pan out.
  11. Only actually costing a 4th and still keeping a 1st round pick would be an immense steal.
  12. That reads to me like they can make at least one more big signing or a couple medium level signings.
  13. How much money do we have left to spend while accounting for what we can expect we'll need to pay the incoming draft class?
  14. Whatever else you say about Ryan Poles, he does make big swings. I hope he connects here.
  15. I want a young guy on the other side of the line. Sweat is gonna be like...28-29 next year? I want a young, fast, extraordinarily physically talented guy on the other side. But what I "want" doesn't necessarily mean its possible of course.
  16. I see Johnson isn’t looking to depend on draft picks for his ‘25 offensive line
  17. He certainly was the poster child for angry old white racist dudes who live in another era but I’ll give this to Sanborn: for a very limited player who could never start but be a situational player, he made a decent amount of impact plays. Credit to him.
  18. Will it be a dome or will it be one of those retractable roof dealies (my hope)
  19. I’m just happy for this interminable drama to be done. Build the stadium horsefeatherss!
  20. Honestly didn’t know Justin Turner was still in the league, he wasn’t young when we faced off with him in 2016. Well, it’s a low risk move, hope he’s got something in the tank.
  21. Jay Cutler has a higher career passer rating
  22. Here's a name that I think gets chronically under appreciated: Philip Rivers It goes unremarked upon for the most part but Rivers was a much, much better QB than Eli Manning at the end of the day.
  23. i think it happens but its very rare most players just kinda settle into who they were gonna be anyway (this is impossible to debate and i'll hold onto my own ideological position understanding others will disagree)
  24. The only person I feel like the "was sacked too much it ruined his career" actually applies to is David Carr, who I harbor an irrational, non-evidence-based belief would have had a reasonable NFL career if he went to anyone other than the expansion Texans.
