    Baseball is one of the only sports where the “defense” (pitching) is the initiator of the action, and the offense is the one that reacts. Which really does set the sport apart. of course I 99% of the time think getting too cute with your lineup rather than just putting the best 9 guys out there is a mistake.

    I don’t think it’ll matter hugely in the long run but I don’t love sitting a guy (for an inferior player) who is finally emerging offensively. Let him cook.

    Not surprised at all about offensive struggles early on in training camp. If they're still problems at the end of training camp and into the preseason I'll be maybe 1% worried but theres really no way to know anything until the season starts.

    I dunno why but I'm reminded of Ryan Braun and just how much I hated that guy for over a decade. Hate that dude.

    I think the present teams are roughly equivalent (which is kind of obvious to say given they have virtually the same record) - the Cubs have a better offense, the Brewers have a better pitching staff. Probably, the Cubs pitching will improve as people come off the IL and people are acquired, and there’s really no commensurate improvement to be found in the Brewers, but who’s to say! Baseball is a dumb and evil sport.

    Thats a Salvador Perez special. I looked it up on Gameday and yeah, that's a borderline inside strike at best. Can't get too mad when a guy just freakishly mashes that out. Can our boys do that?
