    Assad's my dawg. I don't care what the peripherals say on him, I"m hyped to see him in action again. It does make me think about how particularly unlucky the Cubs have been with their rotation this season so far. We've lost Assad, Steele and lost major chunks of time with Imanaga and now Taillon (who's also been mediocre when healthy). The fact they're tied for the best record in baseball is pretty astonishing in light of that.

    This is what baseball's about baby. You gotta just enjoy this. I'm up in Door County this week and I'm definitely gonna get rowdy and annoying up here with Brewers fans.

    Yup I was just thinning if that series. If I remember right that was the season the Brewers traded for a rental CC Sabathia? An awesome series

    It’s actually pretty fun the Cubs and Brewers are going into this series tied. I’m excited about it. Sure it’ll be stressful, and sure we’d like the Cubs to be playing better ball at this point, but you can’t get better drama than this in July.

    Cubs are probably gonna take this one but man lately they are fumbling an astronomical amount of runners on base, which generally means the Baseball Gods punish you for your hubris

    You have to overpay and overextend on years to sign superstars. That’s unfortunately just the terms of engagement. You sign a guy fully knowing the back half of the deal is bad, dead money - but you’re praying the front half is worth it.

    Could we shoot one of Justin Turner/Berti/Brujan into the Sun? I’d rather carry three catchers than any of those guys.

    This is giving me flashbacks to….2006? I think? A similarly horrifically bad crosstown series when the Sox utterly humiliated us, and I think the same series where Michael Barrett clocked AJ Piercynski

    I don’t know if it counts as criticism or not but he’s definitely our 8th best hitter at the moment, which is sad more than anything
