  1. Danny Parkins lost his show right? Maybe he’ll be back. Who knows.
  2. I made a mistake and looked at the Bears schedule this year: wait a second, why is a last place schedule so goddamn hard? Oh its because the NFC North isn't it. I really hope everyone else in the NFC North takes a serious step back. Good lord.
  3. I like Spiegel but paired with Holmes I find his show a lot less interesting than when he was with Danny Parkins. Maybe radio just needs a 'Dan' who is occasionally annoying or inflammatory but at least injects some pizazz in the hour. Like Danny Parkins wasn't always the smartest (he threw a "QB1" party for Justin Fields) but at least that kind of energy gives the show some momentum. Just be stupid sometimes.
  4. It’s odd to me the focus from the fan base on Tucker’s poor performance when Suzuki, Busch and PCA have been as bad or worse over the last few months
  5. I never thought the Score really needed Dan Bernstein but man the shows are a real snore without him. I really have tried to give Harris and Rahimi a try but it’s just too boring without Dan. do I need a sports radio show? Obviously not, but what else am I going to listen to while giving a dog a walk?
  6. I dunno they drew 5 walks in less than 5 innings against the sinker baller. They just....can't hit at all.
  7. ok i didn't expect them to run the table necessarily on these final 4 games (that would have been cool but so it goes) but man, having 8 walks and only 1 run is pretty sick. don't do that
  8. good god man this team HATES runners on with zero out michael busch bases clearing double notwithstanding
  9. on the other hand, Imanaga has really settled down and is cruising now
  10. The spice is flowing!
  11. Even if they have a very remote shot, I’m very pleased to see this team have some fight in them. This was a team that just kept dropping series’s to bums. Thank god they are coming out of it.
  12. Spectacular job Cubs. After a month of scuffling baseball I’m very happy to see you all back to form. also big time props to Matt Shaw who struggled mightily, stuck with it, and has emerged as a real offensive force. You love to see it.
  13. I don’t get why Nico isn’t a contender for lead off? He’s got a .370 OBP since the ASB, he’s been one of the few very consistent hitters on the team
  14. It’s funny that everyone was mad at Jed for not doing two big things at the trade deadline: get a top of the line starting pitcher or a 3b bat. And then, the Cubs have REALLY struggled since the ASB… and yet, how are the Cubs struggling? Well it’s not starting pitching, where they’ve had a run of excellent starting pitching since the ASB, and it’s not 3B where Matt Shaw has been their best hitter the last month+, it’s every other facet of the team completely collapsing. strange how things work
  15. There’s a common misconception about “regression to the mean” that one can expect that if a player (or a team, or a roulette wheel or whatever) exceeds expectations that you can expect them to play worse as they “regress” to the mean. But that’s not what a regression to mean is. Let’s say we have a player who’s “true” (if such a thing exists) talent level is a .270 batting average. And let’s say they are blessed by the BABIP gods and hit .330 for the first half of the season. That players regression to mean isn’t to hit worse and to level those numbers out - if he were to regress it would be to hit closer to .270 again. Now of course you can expect there to be cold streaks along with hot streaks. And baseball players aren’t random number generators. But it’s important, I think.
  16. I do have to say it’s insanely annoying to know where to watch NFL games. Every week it’s a scramble for me to figure out where the Bears game is airing and more often than not I just illegally stream it.
  17. Season flow status: better!
  18. Good job boys First time I’ve been pleasantly surprised of this team since like…before the All Star Break
  19. Assume the Cubs get swept for the final 4 games and you’ll feel better if they can squeeze one win out of the week
