  1. Oh my god what is wrong with this offense we basically are only allowed offense every 3rd game
  2. Boys I’m gonna need you to not do whatever this is and instead win
  3. i mean i'm certainly not rooting for it but if Bagent looks awful than we wont.
  4. it would make me feel really good to see the cubs go on a little winning streak of some kind i've already mentally given up on the NL Central (as irrational as that is) but I just want to see them comfortably above 20 games over .500 and not hovering between 17-20 games over which they've been since like June
  5. Are joint practices kind of a new thing? I feel like I never heard about them until recently. Seems like it would be kind of hard to navigate because why would you want to give more scouting opportunities to opponents? (Though I assume you almost never have joint practices with teams that are on your schedule that year)
  6. I don’t for one second believe weight lifting is bad for pitchers and there is zero chance the training regimen they had 50 years ago was better for pitcher health than what happens today we’re simply talking about the extremely rare physical freaks who had HOF careers and longevity and not the thousands of pitchers who washed out in the 20th century
  7. i am in danger of becoming a Bears Fatalist and just see nothing really working or mattering and the team will just be mediocre-to-bad with flashes of competence every once in a while like a 2001 or 2018 season, but hell, I really do hope that Johnson can break the Bears Spell.
  8. I think whatever they're doing with pitchers arms is likely better than what coaches and trainers have done in past decades but its an imperfect science and I'll join with the poster above who said there's simply no sure-fire way to reduce injury. This is a world-class sport where pitchers are straining the human body to do things that are nearly impossible to accomplish, you're inevitably going to push people's bodies beyond their breaking point, particularly with the fashionable (and effective) focus on velocity. I feel bad for pitchers. No matter what, these guys are usually doing some massive damage to their bodies by the end of their career. Except for Kyle Hendricks. Good for that guy.
  9. lol i definitely had it turned off for when he blew up, apparently
  10. Kittredge has been horsefeathers nails since we got him. both he and Castro have been excellent pick ups so far
  11. I know this is how baseball goes. When you’re team’s offense goes cold scratching even one run across becomes a Herculean task. I’ve been watching baseball for 25 years and this is true of every team. but GOOD GOLLY MISS MOLLY it doesn’t stop being painful
  12. I’m gonna need yall to get some runs here or we’re gonna have a problem
  13. I feel bad for both Horton and Imanaga. Playing out of their minds lately.
  14. this feels like an inevitable sweep i'm feeling kind of pissed off they didn't sit Tucker for a week (or however long he needed) to rest up his hand after he injured it because it clearly has hampered him and its done nobody any good to trot him out there for the last month+ and not actual heal the damn thing
  15. Season flow status: Bad! It Feels Bad!
  16. Ok we have officially reached “disaster, dumpster fire” zone
  17. So the offense has completely and totally given up I guess
  18. The Cubs have lost major innings to 4 of their starting 5 pitchers to start the year. Yeah, you always want to stockpile SPs, but its damn hard to plan ahead for 80% of your rotation either being out for the season or missing major time.
  19. So this looks like he’s one of the worst pitchers in baseball. That’s….not good. Cubs aren’t gonna score.
  20. The worst part about it is that we’re absolutely the “bad guys” here, objectively. The Brewers are the scrappy underdog against the big pocketed big kid on the block, and we’re helpless to defeat them.
  21. Jesus Christ this is humiliating. i feel bad and the team should feel bad
  22. Can someone please tell me what we did to piss off the Baseball Gods so much? They’re being extra cruel to us lately
  23. Oh my god this is so PREDICTABLE. If you’re going to be annoying at least do it in a new way. God damn.
