  1. Pedro Feliz may yet save the day Please GIDP Feliz, you know you want to
  2. I agree with whatever poster said something to the effect of : "These games used to kill me" Yeah, I agree this team is playing just as infuriatingly poorly as they did last year, but now I'm so emotionally disconnected it doesn't bother me as much Go, bumble around, let terrible players beat you, it doesn't matter anymore.
  3. Yeah the Koyie Hill doesn't make much sense to me
  4. Just popping in to say that the Astros are the team I least like watching the Cubs face, and Wandy Rodriguez and Geoff Blum the most potent combination to piss off Cubs fans everywhere
  5. Wow, I kick ass, I was just kidding with the Marmol joke and I can't even watch the game but yep Lou is a parody of himself
  6. Its gonna be Marmol because Lou is stupid
  7. Already I'm impressed with Byrd, I was expecting something on the order of .270-.330-.450 and even though its just a start he's playing very well (defense...sometimes notwithstanding but it'll improve) With a rejuvenated Soto and a healthy Ramirez and Lee staying ageless and the Fontenot-Baker platoon working anything we get from Soriano is a cherry on top basically The rotation (I know they've played well but its still got Carlos Silva and Gorzellany in it, and of course Zambrano crapping the bed everywhere) and bullpen are still iffy though
  8. His bullpen management is pretty bad and lucky us thats pretty much the most important job the manager has
  9. Bases loaded, no out We're gonna screw it up
  10. or Soto Just have Soto bat for Koyie Hill if you're gonna do this
  11. It'd be pretty cool if Soriano could be useful this year All the other hitters are sorta doing something, this sorta patchwork team might be able to put together a few runs
  12. Its games like these, games where...the terrible ass pitcher that we had to take on the roster because of some other terrible moves gives us a few good starts (he'll be worthless in a few starts of course) and we face a guy that went 3-11 with a 6+ ERA last year and we're down its games like these that encapsulate what being a Cubs fan is EDIT: Soriano bunting loooooooool
  13. Is Z hitting for himself? If he is I hope he jacks one here
  14. Byrd is freakin' jacked, I'd love to get some work out pointers from him
  15. You mean like how he pitched really really well for us in his first start? NL transition bump :hello:
  16. Other positive (for now) news: St. Louis is down 2-1 after 6 to Houston. That won't last. STL has not looked very good in this homestand against the measly Astros. Their pitching has though. Starters are just all gonna be Dave Duncan fixes this year I guess. was there ever any doubt? throw them carlos silva and they'll bring you back a cy young winner
  17. The only bright spot is we're up against Jeff Suppan who is one of the worst pitchers in the major leagues the bad thing is we're gonna have to deal with another 5 innings of wild ass crazy Z + bullpen and our offense just loves getting fooled by bad pitchers
  18. Nah I'm happy to see this team persevere and win a playoff spot rather than the miniscule chance they get a lottery pick Sure they'll get completely manhandled by the Cav's but maybe, just maybe, we'll have a re-enactment of last years first round and that was hella entertaining
  19. hahahha yess, i really do hate the brewers
  20. BTW I'm not sure exactly what role Chad Tracy plays on the team other than to look completely overmatched in every at bat
  21. the 2010 cubs are pretty bad its time for you boys to find secondary teams, I'm looking at the Twins and A's (because i love pain) myself
  22. all this 'aggressive' baserunning is going to make me vomit if we continue doing this into the season
  23. I'd freak out if that happened. In a good way :) Don't they trade their pick if they make the lottery or something odd like that?
  24. Seeing the corpse of Vernon Wells actually do something the first week of play might push Soriano over the hump and well into "Worst Contract Given Out In the History of MLB" I almost have a perverse desire to see this go as bad as it can. Soriano, over the course of 300 odd at bats, on and off injured, hitting around .180, little to no power, absolutely terrible defense. Then I want to see the blaming, the namecalling, the fighting in between the front office and him. I just want to see the whole media circus and then he's dishonorably thrown to some other team while we pay his entire contract. Thats what I want to see.
  25. I only just checked the boxscore and all I needed to see was that we had 8 walks and 1 run This team continues to amaze and bedazzle the human mind
