  1. Desperate moves while squinched up against the trade deadline and without the infield flexibility when trying to give Bryant a day off isn't Joe really taking your advice, sontensei
  2. Chris Coghlan in the 3 spot o_0 No Kris Bryant and David Ross back there. This...is gonna be a series.
  3. I love this whole "would prefer Starlin Castro" over Javier Baez. Well yeah of course, I would much rather give someone a bunch of coal than a bag of diamonds, as well.
  4. Crazy to think Justin Upton is only 27 (soon to be 28) when he's been in the league forever. It also feels like he's already gone through his arc as a player when he is entering the years that (historically considered, sometimes disputed) to be his peak.
  5. One one hand I understand why the Cubs FO is 'aggressively shopping' Starlin Castro, on the other hand, I understand why no team is particularly interested in one of the worst players in the league right now
  6. Bryant in the early 2000s would have totally hit 40 home runs his rookie year EDIT: Good God, Pat Burrell's rookie year in 2000 OPS of .822 was good for only a 106 OPS+ I miss the early 2000's :bye:
  7. So should we expect the Cubs to make a deal now that the most high-profile targets have been gobbled up? I guess Shields is still on the radar?
  8. :? Bryant's batting average has dipped below .250 It saddens me to see his nice slash line drop, its important to me, aesthetically, that his OPS stays above .800 for his entire season
  9. Alright everybody, get ready to squeeze your butt cheeks
  10. To be fair, Rizzo's first homer was pretty surprising and "unlikely"
  11. Looking at At-Bat it looks like Bryant is missing meatballs right down the middle of the plate :(
  12. It's nice that Schwarbs is still reaching base at a nice clip
  13. Regardless of what happens, what an excellent game by Lester
  14. Surely Jonathon Herrera must feel bad about himself today
  15. "In play, runs" is a rude thing to see
  16. Well, at least they're reaching base more often *queue the bullpen disastrously wrecking the game*
  17. Oy please don't attempt to steal bases with Schwarber batting
  18. I feel bad for Addison Russell who basically has no chance to score if he gets on with David Ross- Pitcher - Jonathon Herrera behind him
  19. Yeah Lester has actually been really good this year since the first like 5 starts when he was kinda bad
  20. Scoring runs before the other team scores runs is a good practice, IMO
  21. ahhh, this feels like Jay Cutler all over again, surely it'll have the same good results with these excuses
  22. In case folks missed it, his first home run was on a pitch way up in the zone that he'd probably whiff at 11 times out of 10 last year http://www.milb.com/multimedia/vpp.jsp?sid=milb&content_id=306148483 Here's his 2nd: http://www.milb.com/multimedia/vpp.jsp?sid=milb&content_id=306227283 not a terrible pitch to swing at when you're down 0-2. 2nd one was just a hanger. That first pitch isn't even a strike, its like a ball above your collar there, impressive stuff Get him up!
  23. it seems like Castro is being ritually sacrificed for a good harvest like in the Wicker Man I approve
