People have to understand that the playoffs are pretty much 11 coin flips in a row. You can play around it a little bit, increase your coin flips a couple percentage points here and there, but you're never going to get overwhelming odds. So your job is to make the playoffs as frequently as possible (and a secondary goal is to have the best seeding, and a tertiary goal is having a couple good front line starters, who tip the scales slightly more than any other factor on a team). So, that being the case, try to make the playoffs this year, but don't do it at the expense of future chances. It's pretty simple.
