  1. Anybody know if that justin.tv page will carry this game? I'm at work and they won't let me download the plugin to watch my mlb.tv  ETA: Or any other advice or loopholes for getting mlb.tv while using a mac?
  2. 11 In the post game interview, after winning the world series with a walk-off HR, he'll guarantee to hit a walk-off HR on opening day 2009. The reporter (Erin Andrews) beings to laugh...then remembers who she's talking to....and solemnly nods her head.
  3. Wrigley - 26 But with major renovations in the near future
  4. 100 pitch no-no would sit well with me
  5. Except for the fact that the 2008 astros won't make the playoffs. I'm sick and tired of hearing about the great moves to get Hawkins and Wolf. You do realize the Astros are only three games out in the wild card, right? Yep. Still take the 94% chance they won't make the playoffs though.

  7. With two off-days, I agree entirely. I'd push him a little farther personally. He'll undoubtedly get pushed pretty hard in the playoffs, I'd like to at least work him into that scenario. I wouldn't have pulled him after 62 pitches. Leave him in until around 90ish would be optimal, imo. He still has at least 2 more starts, probably 3. He can get up to 75-80 next time, 90 after that, and should be able to go 100+ if needed in the playoffs. Unless there is more than meets the eye in this "missed" start, I don't agree. 90 pitches is hardly pushing a pitcher too far IMO. I'd like for him to be accustomed to throwing that many pitches in more than one start before the playoffs.

  9. Good lord, should they have cheered? I didn't hear a boo like "that wasn't a strike" come on now. Well I did. lol, okay. I'm sure the Cubs fans do nothing of the sort when their guy strikes out looking. Stupid Cardinal fans. I boo unmercifully until I run out of breathe and pass out personally.
  10. Sweet! Hopefully Harden throws a gem tomorrow and we can put this little blip in the radar behind us.
  11. What the hell happened with Wood? Seriously, I'm asking. I've been ultra busy with school and work.
  12. I'm perplexed by the turner hating. Was not getting to the AFC championship game (with a limping team) not good enough? With a healthy LT and/or Rivers that game looks a lot different. So what if they lost game one of this season? The last three super bowl champions lost game one of the season. Only if they had a better coach, right? Look, I'm not saying that he's the best coach ever or even that he is better than Schottenheimer. I'm just saying that he has talent to work with and he's a pretty smart football guy, especially offensively. Overall, I trust AJ Smith and the decisions he makes. He's built the chargers piece by piece and I trust that he's got the guy in charge that puts them in a good position to win. Norv Turner has an entire career of incompetence as a head coach. That doesn't get ignored after one good season with an incredibly stacked roster that he inherited. It doesn't help matters that they fired a great coach and brought in one who has proven he's simply a great O-coordinator and extremely incompetent head coach. Bill Belichick as Cleveland HC: 36-44 (1-1 playoff record) Bill Belichick as New England HC: 92-37 (14-3 playoff record) Did he magically become a football genius after leaving Cleveland? Or is he a product of his team's talent? I just don't put a lot of stock into the head coach, that's all. SD has a really good team and this year, just like last year, their record will show that. Even with Norv Turner.
  13. This past week reminded me a lot of the first week after the ASB. A lot of folks claiming the sky was falling and I told them it was a cold streak. Remind me, how'd that turn our for us? Seriously, NEVER judge a team by ONE week. EVER. There's a reason they play 162 games. Let's take emotions out of this, what's more believable? 86-56 Cubs team is a good team going through a rough patch? The 86-56 Cubs team has been overperforming all year! after all they are THE cubs!!!! amirite???? /bartman

  15. welcome aboard cubs 32
  16. at this rate I don't even know if they'll get an NIT bid
  17. haha, thats how I read it too
  18. They had a nice team last year and I knew WVU would have a tough time with them, congrats and keep on winning! Thanks! It looks like Terry Holland extended Skip just in time. I would think he could have cashed in on some serious money after this year.
  19. Just stopping by to pimp my pirates. I think everybody around here was expecting them to be better, but not this good. This is the most fun I've had since I came here 7 years ago... :-)) They should be favored in every game from here out. I doubt they run the table, but I could really see 12-1 or 11-2 and a major bowl bid.
  20. Apparently September is bizarro month for the Cubs since they are good but continue to lose. Using this logic, Marquis pitches a gem. 4 game winning streak starts tonight. Cubs win 7-2. (pregame by watching my pirates open a can on the mountaineers. 4:30 EST ESPN)
