  1. Already addressed that it wasn't current and AM has had a hard on for Pie since his term here Already addressed, never to the degree that it would include BOTH Cedeno and Olsen. Previously acknowledged. Maybe it was, I was working for the greater part of both those days. Either way, it wasn't widely reported and it was just completely odd and caught most, if not all, Cubs fans off guard. This one you can have. I too hear rumors and I hoped they were true. I'd rather have Gaudin, Marshall, Heilman, or any other candidate over 2009 Marquis, but that's just me. First, I don't care. Second, it hasn't happened. Thrid, if I had Paul's cell number he would probably tell me the same thing. Nobody cares about Paul Bako.
  2. Lmao. The users were (are) harsh. Ugh I miss DeRo. That was right before I started posting and I was still lurking. I didn't have a problem with the signing but that is because I'm an idiotic eternal optimist. Nowadays I'm somewhere in between when it comes to the Cubs. Who am I kidding, by the time April rolls around I'll be right back on the wagon.
  3. Cedeno for Heilman was forecasted. Yeah. But it wasn't Cedeno for Heilman. That's my point. Cedeno was obvioiusly the least important part of the equation. Cedeno will likely be a backup MI for his MLB career. Why in the hell would he be traded (plus some unnamed, yet apparently equally untalented minor league player) for a successful and proven MLB picther? It makes no sense. That says little about the people that insinuated that Cedeno would be traded for Heilman. They merely picked up half the story and ran with it. I'm not saying that they are misleading people. I'm saying rather that nothing was reported pertaining Pie to Baltimore (barring interest stemming back practically a year ago) and certainly nothing pertaining the newly acquired Olsen to Seattle. Could it all be done in an elaborate measure to eventually net Peavy? Perhaps. Could it be questionable moves by a GM that at times doesn't do what NSBB suggests (and normally rightfully so)? Certainly. I hope it's all part of a "master plan" to acquire Jake Peavy. I've already braced myself that it is not.
  4. At this point, a better question would be: Why would anyone ever place any stock in any source, at any time, about anything concerning the cubs? The only transaction forecasted correctly so far (in this apparent regrettable offseason) has been the bradley deal. A deal reported as "done" by several major networks a few days before it happened. If something is in the works (yet I'm not sold there is anything), I doubt anyone has the "inside track". At least not on a trade of this magnitude. Either we're going into next season resembling something close to what we have right now or something is going to happen out of the blue sometime between now and April 1st. Hopefully I'm wrong, but that's what I expect. Either way, I'll still probably be checking the transaction thread daily.
  5. That would be amazing. I'm just worried that our local cable company wouldn't pick it up though, at least not initially. I'm still without the MLB network as we speak.
  6. Then I suggest Hendry hire Bob Vila. I'd prefer this guy: http://uncpress.unc.edu/woodwright/images/Roy_w_books.jpg His manually powered tools are more eco-friendly.
  7. Huh, I thought we answered the backup MI question with Miles? (albeit, an poor answer) I guess this means Cedeno is gone. I hope they can get fair value for him, I'd rather have him at his salary than any of those other options.
  8. How does this work exactly? Do you pick the best player that you think available or the best player that suits the team's interest? Looks like Tampa is the last available, I'll take them.
  9. What happened to my image? Certainly it wasn't too big.
  10. Geo has proven he doesn't even have to speak to communicate. All catchers have that ability though http://pro.corbis.com/images/42-16623740.jpg?size=572&uid=%7BE1E1B084-2556-4DC0-91AA-38BC506D12C8%7D :)
  11. Sweet. So the fans lose yet again.
  12. Titans Panthers Eagles Chargers
  13. heading to Durham for the VT - Duke game shortly. I'll probably be the only person in the student section without any Duke apparel.
  14. Yeah, they looked pretty bad when they traveled to Pittsburgh week 11. They only lost by one, but I think I'd rather see them in Nashville next week. Either game will be extremely tough though. Maybe the Pro Bowler can make a prediction next week too
  15. The Colts seem like a gimme today, don't they? Superior team facing an average at best team, who might be missing one of their elite players, and the Norv factor. The Chargers won last year in Indianapolis with Philip Rivers, LaDanian Tomlinson and Norv Turner all on the sidelines. Of course, they did have Michael Turner at that time. Rivers played that game (14-19 for 264, 3 TD/1 INT) and Tomlinson played a little bit. I think he was thinking about the NE game the following week when LT and Gates were hurt (sounds familiar) and Rivers was on a torn acl No, I was thinking about the Colts game the week before, as I said. I have a pretty good handle as to what happened in previous Colts games, as does CCP. In the playoff game last year, Rivers left the game and Billy Volek led the Chargers to a game-winning drive. LT rushed seven times the entire game. The Chargers won the game without LT and Rivers at the end. Well by saying they won with Rivers on the sidelines made it sound like you meant he missed the whole game. Semantics, but I'd say "Rivers was on the sideline during the game winning drive." Point is, if Volek was in there the whole game they probably lose Thanks, didn't feel like typing that much on an my iPod.

  17. Rivers had an MVP year and the chargers without a doubt would not be in the playoffs without him. But, they were just 8-8 so I guess that's enough to keep him out. Regardless, I hope he great game tommorow even though gates and LT are banged up.

    NFL Week 17

Go Lions! I'm dying to see their celebration if they win.
  19. I'll be pulling for Chris Johnson in the playoffs for you guys dew. I didn't think it would be possible for anyone to overtake Garrard as the most beloved NFL player in Greenville, NC until this year. I think he's even surprised his biggest fans. Congrats and good luck, hope Lendale's "towel stomping" doesn't come back to haunt you all.

    NFL Week 17

Go Chargers. Go Eagles. And, for what it's worth, go Redskins.
  21. If by "Another" you mean... first 4td performance of his career you would be right. Heh, how did I know you would be the one to correct me? I could have sworn he had a 4 TD performance earlier this year but after further inspection he just had 6 games of 3 touchdowns. Either way, guess that puts a fork in the argument of best QB this year.
  22. Another 4 TD performance by Rivers. GO BILLS!
  23. When I clicked on this thread I was horrified that this was being reported somewhere as a legit option. Thankfully it's not. PASS
  24. I don't think anybody with an MVP vote will even remotely consider Favre. Don't let the pro bowl invite fool you, it's a popularity contest that's heavily skewed by the (idiotic) fans vote. Favre isn't even the MVP of the Jets offense. If by some miracle the Chargers could reach the playoffs then I think Rivers should win, but I'm probably on my own with that one. He's the only player that has kept that horribly coached and unmotivated team afloat. When the Chargers inevitable lose on a 64 yard field goal Sunday, I have no problem with Peyton winning.
