We dont need a short stop, but if Hanley Ramiez were to fall into our lap, would Lou say no? Im just saying, when you have a shot at one of the top 5 starters in the game, you can make an exception. I know that his top priority is a LH bat, but theres really none out there that anyones absoltely in love with. That was my whole point, ESPN reported the cubs would no longer pursue Peavy because Lou said "We're set at SP. We don't need any more". Well, of course they don't need anymore, but it sure would be nice to have Peavy. I didn't read anything into Lou's comments because I think he was just saying what he was supposed to say: we're a good team and I'm happy with my players. I still have my doubts that the Cubs will land Peavy, but people read into Lou's comments way too much.
